LILITH
Yesterday Lucian woke me up early in the morning because he called the doctor to check my leg.
He woke me up at 5am!
What got into him to call the doctor that early I have no idea.
He scooped me in his arms, left me in the bathroom and then waited for me to get out. After I did get out, he lifted me in his hands again and took me downstairs where the doctor was waiting.
The kind man examined my ankle and I was relieved to hear what he had to say. It was nothing serious. I have just twisted my leg slightly and I had to rest for couple of days, not standing up for too long.
And that not standing up for too long was by Lucian, understood as not standing at all.
Just like right now, I was sitting in the living room on the sofa, while Lucian was on the other part of the couch. He had his laptop on his lap and was typing something like he was in a rush.
I turned the page of the book I was holding in front of me and shifted in my place.
My bones started to hurt because under my husband's command, I was not allowed to walk until my ankle was better.
I have been rotting in bed for more than twenty-four hours.
"What is the book about?" Lucian averted his eyes to me and placed his hands on the back of the sofa. Because he was wearing t-shirt all of his tattoos were on display. He usually wore shirts during the day.
Only for sleeping he was wearing short sleeves t-shirts.
There were many tattoos that I didn't know what they meant because they were in a foreign language. His other ones were the significant tattoo of his family and few more objects. They were basically scattered over his arms.
I looked at the book in my hands and gulped down the lump in my throat. This was definitely not a book to be talked about with him.
"It's about people..." I said and he cocked his head to the side, looking at me like I said the stupidest thing in the world. Which I did.
"About people and relationships and stuff."
"It must be boring because your eyes have been on me the whole time."
"That's not true. What are you talking about?" Of course my cheeks blushed as I tried to defend myself but failed miserably.
"Just the tapping on the keyboard is distracting. That's all." He nodded like he knew that was not the case.
Okay, I admit it. I couldn't really keep my eyes to myself and stared at him the whole time.
Was that wrong? Yes.
Was I able to stop? Not really.
I have known that Lucian was really good looking but his attitude towards me put me off. He was cold and always looked at me like I did something wrong to him.
But since I moved here with him, he has been slightly different. All of his actions were throwing me off. He was actually nice to me, which was something I never really had.
Yes, my parents but that was different. Not even my brother was nice to me.
Sebastian and his parents were the worst and I thought being here with Lucian was going to be worse than that.
Even though his personality was reserved and ruthless, he was warming up to me. I never knew why he was different to me before but I'm sure there must have been a reason.
