HIS POV

"Shaurya," she said looking at him.

I wondered who this Shaurya was and how did they know each other so well.

He pulled out his shades and walked to her smiling. While she smiled back at him. Though it was only a greeting smile but I did not like it to be for any other man than me.

"It's really good to see you after so long," he said.

"Yeah, it's been a few months I guess," She said.

"Twelve and a half to be exact," he said, smiling softly.

I immediately looked over to him. He did not seem normal to me. How could a person be so calculative? And why?

She smiled awkwardly and then introduced us.

"Here, meet my husband," she said.

And he looked at me shockingly.

"You're married?" He asked.

Is he dumb? Can't he see her vermillion and nuptial chain? Or does he not want to?

"Yeah it's been a couple of days," she said.

"You dumped my proposal for him," he said.

I was shocked to hear that. But so was she.

She shook her head and tried to say something but he spoke first.

"hahaha just kidding,"

Idiot.

He put forward his hand for a handshake for me.

"Shaurya Ahlawat, District Magistrate, Jaipur," he said.

I shook hands with him after realising how possibly he could be here.

"Daksh Pratap Rathore, her husband," I said firmly.

He gave me a lip-tight smile and looked at her.

"Hope to see you around," I said releasing our palms.

He nodded again and smiled at her, making me nauseous. Later on, we parted ways.

Thousands of questions were arising in my mind about him and their meeting earlier. But I did not try to be obvious to her, I did not want her to think that I was jealous or distrusting. But again I was a man and anything concerning related to my women, even the slightest possibility, worries me.

I do not know when and how I fell so hard for her but I am glad this is what it is.

We entered the house and greeted everyone, taking their blessings. As a newly wedded couple, everyone wanted to meet and greet us.

Tejas and Sunaina followed the same act and finally, after the family meetup, we walked towards our room since it was soon going to be evening.

I entered my room on the ground floor and instantly the very delicate smell of earthen pots and fresh flowers entered my nose, recalling all the memories from childhood.

I removed my coat and vest and placed it on the chair.

I looked at the open window beside the bed and moved to it, opening it completely. I walked out to the balcony full of plants and flowers and inhaled the fresh air.
