HIS POV
I was left with nothing but a heartbreak now. The number of times people have lied to me cheated behind my back, and showed dishonesty was uncountable. The worst was that it all came from people I loved and cared for in good and bad times. The people I loved. The ones who have always been close to my heart. People who I least expect would keep things from me, were lying right on my face.
My best friend, my little sister and the one I could never believe would hurt me, my wife. But as people say betrayal comes from where you least expect it.
On this dark night, I drove as fast as I could to reach the person I considered my home and make her look into my eyes and speak the truth. I wanted her to confess her lies and her betrayal to me.
I drove faster seeing the gates pull open and crashed into them while they tried to unlock. Rushing into the home after leaving the car stranded at the gate I walked up the stairs with heavy steps and a heavier heart while my mind was juggling with anger and betrayal. I looked up to our room's door and wondered if she would still lie to me if what happened today hadn't happened.
Upon reaching the door I pushed it open and looked for her. She was not in the room. I walked a few steps and found her standing on the balcony.
This moment would have looked beautiful if it had been any other regular day when I came home and found her waiting for me while looking at the stars but not today.
She must have sensed my arrival, when she turned around and smiled while coming to me. I must have always been busy falling over her smile while she went behind my back.
She came closer to hug me but I stopped her showing my palm and stepped back.
Hurt was clearly visible on her face. Wasn't it visible on mine? I couldn't help but stare at her while she looked for an explanation.
"Did you have fun?" I asked with a heavy voice.
"Hnn?" She looked confused.
"All these days making a fool out of me, lying to me. Did you have fun in all this?" I asked.
"Yeh kya keh rahe aap?" She said.
(What are you saying)
"How long were you planning to hide it?" I asked again. "How long were you planning to play dumb behind my back with them?" I raised my voice in the end.
"Aa..aap ky..kya-" I cut her off.
(Y...you w...what-)
"STOP IT ALREADY!" I shouted.
It was making me sick.
"You knew about Jhanvi and Samrit and you kept it from me. All these days I discussed with you how worried I was for her and still, you kept quiet. I shared all my worries and you chose to play with my feelings. Not once did you think of telling me the truth." I blurted out shouting.
She shook her head and tears filled in those eyes I used to admire.
"It's no..not true. I wanted to tell you-" she said
"Yet you didn't. You chose to hide it for god knows whose sake!" I said.
She walked closer to me and looked into my eyes.
"It was not my place to tell Daksh. I wanted them to inform you or else you would think they are cheating on you if you heard it from me," she said.
"Do not give me excuses, Radhika," I said.
She shook her head vigorously and hiccuped while speaking.
"I did not want to keep you in the dark. B..but I cared about them. They are your loved ones, Daksh, you shouldn't be hating on them." She said.
