"Well?" Eugene questioned
"Well what?" Sabrina asked, walking down the stairs
"Do you know who I am?" Eugene asked
"Should I?" Sabrina questioned
"Yes ma'am, you should. Names Eugene. I am the only known individual who can save mankind." He explained, "I heard you use to work for the CDC."
Sabrina looked at Eugene in amusement, "I did." She said, sitting down at the bottom of the stairwell
"Abraham here is on a mission to get me to Washington." Eugene explained, "I have been aching to find someone to match my level of intellect to assist me with a cure. Could this individual be you?" He asked
Sabrina slid on her boots, "Uh, no." She said, "All the CDCs and big ticket stuff like that have been terminated."
"What?" Abraham asked, perking up
"That's impossible." Eugene said, "The White House has to still be standing. There where I need to go."
"What, you don't think The White House is one of the first places people went to seek refuge?" Sabrina questioned, lacing up her boots, "People have hopes in The President to save them. The President has hope that people will save him." She laughed, "There's nothing left."
"That's impossible." Eugene said, standing up, "I'm starting to believe you didn't really work for the CDC."
"You caught me. I'm a fluke." Sabrina said, rolling her eyes, "I'm gonna go load up the truck." She said, standing up.
"I'll come with you." Rick said, walking outside with Sabrina, "What're you thinking about?"
"I think your friend is full of stories." Sabrina laughed as she walked down the front porch, making her way to the garage
"What makes you think that?" Rick asked
"The fate of humanity lies in the hands of a man with a mullet?" Sabrina questioned
"It's the end of the world, what's his haircut matter?" Rick grinned as he pulled up the garage door, revealing an old blue truck, "Holy cow, this thing is ancient!"
"Hey! Old blue has been nothing but reliable." Sabrina argued, "I think we can fit four people in the front, and the rest in the bed."
"You got any last minute things you wanna do before we hit the road?" Rick asked
"Nah. Should be good." Sabrina smiled softly
"Okay. I'll tell everyone we're ready." Rick said, kissing her temple before walking toward the house
Sabrina nodded, climbing into the truck. She sat down in the drivers seat, pulling the keys from the glove compartment.
After a few minutes, Rick emerged with a handful of people, the rest still inside gathering their belongings. Abraham had found another vehicle nearby, so he was driving another section of the group
"Hey! I'm Bob." A man grinned, waking up to the drivers side. Bob grinned as he offering her his hand through the window
"Hi Bob. I'm Sabrina." She smiled, shaking his hand
"I never got the time to properly thank you for saving us." Bob said, "I was a medic in the army. Whatever you need, I'm your man."
"Sweet. Thank you." Sabrina smiled, giving his hand a little squeeze before pulling away
Rick got in the passengers seat, watching as Sasha, Bob and Maggie got in the bed of the truck, "You drive stick?" He asked, glancing into the rearview mirror, watching as Beth got in the back with Judith
