Despite my sister already possessing a powerful technique, I too was granted the same.

"Looks like shes better than Shoko."

Me and my sister are 12 years apart. We weren't close at all and the fact that everyone compared us made it even harder to build a sister relationship with her.

"A higher up possess reversed curse technique too, your daughter will be safe with them."

My parents got money out of sending me to this mans home to train me. I was eight.

"One can't be a sorcerer with only one trick up their sleeve."

This guy trained my body more than my mind. For two years I was doing exactly what I didn't come for.

"Will you ever teach me something about healing?"

I should have asked sooner, I could have finished my training earlier maybe.

"Your technique is only similar to mine due to the fact that I can heal. You can too but to a greater extent."

How did my sister learn if she didn't go through this?

Later I found out that she understood the concept very well, I on the other side didn't. That was my only downfall.

One day the mans wife had a kid. The women fell ill after a week. I stayed by her side and eased her pain with the little knowledge I knew.

"Y/n, I know you will become strong. It doesn't always mean in a fighting way," the women said.

After that she closed her eyes and I felt her heart stop. Then I ran.

"Sir! Your wife! She's not breathing!"

It was only a minute I believe, till he got there.

"Y/n help me!"

I didn't know what to do. I've never seen someone die and didn't know how to help. If I was barely keeping her alive what made him think I could revive her.

I took her hand and concentrated. And from her hand I felt her heartbeat in a way.

Many days passed after that. The man knew now that I could revive the dead.

"Revive him."

Huh?

And that's when my memory went blank...

He was killing people in front of me to measure the time span in which I can revive them in.

1 minute and 1 second. Checked
1 minute and 2 seconds. Checked.
1 minute and 3 seconds. Checked.

It was time to do 5 minutes and 1 second.

He brought his own wife.

"Why her..."

"She failed to give me a son, what can a 3 year old daughter do? She can't train."

I later found out that he accused her of infidelity. That wasn't true.

"Don't worry honey," she said before the final hits, "I know you'll save me."

I'll never forget that smile.

I was 13 and finally was free to go. I was told that my sister would be taking care of me. She was so mature now. She told me we can make up for the time we weren't together. She introduced me to her friends and the students at Jujutu High.

I went to middle school with Megumi for a while but then told her that I'd rather start high school at Jujutsu High earlier. She told me it was okay.

I liked Jujutsu High, I especially liked the environment. The people here were very nice, they were different from the ones in middle school.

"Y/n there's a new student!" Maki was my best friend.

"H-hello, I'm Yuta. Nice to meet you!"

I was 15 and very naive. I wasn't aware of how much people can change. The ones you least expect too.

"I don't think I'm ready Yuta, I wanna wait till I'm older!"

I learned later on that I was manipulated. Yuta gaslighted me into sleeping with him when I didn't want to. I never told anyone about this.

When he broke up with me I was sad. I shouldn't have and should've been happy instead but that's how much I was brainwashed.

She turned to look at Megumi and gave a dry laugh.

"Don't worry about me though," she smiled at him, "other people out there have it much harder. I'm a lucky girl. Others don't ever recover or get freed"

There's so much behind a person that we don't know about. Megumi didn't know.

"Y/n," Megumi grabbed her hand firmly. It was warm but not a sweaty type of warm, a nice feeling. "You deserve all the happiness the world has to offer."

He pulled her into a tight hug, one which she reciprocated with a tender kiss.

"Thank you Megumi."
