Leo's POV
"At Pixel Tech" (the name of Leo's company)
I stood in the middle of the road, waiting for someone. I checked my watch and tapped my foot impatiently.
"Where are they?" I asked as I looked around, finding nothing. Sighing, I sat on the floor.
A gasp escaped me as two delightful scents entered my nostrils. The first scent was a mix of lavender and lemon, while the other smelled like wet earth. They were both lovely.
I attempted to locate the source of the delightful scents, but all I could see were two men. They were quite a distance away and appeared to have no faces, which freaked me out, but their aroma drew me in.
'Who are they?' I questioned myself.
In one swift motion, both men ran towards me with unnatural speed.
One of them dove to reach but...
" Leo, wake up!" A loud voice rang out.
I jumped out of my seat, breathing heavily. I clutched my chest to try and calm my breathing. Looking around, the memory of being in a meeting came about. Everyone in the room looked at me, worry written on their faces.
"C-could we p-put the meeting on hold," I stuttered out. The people just nodded and left the room without a word.
I just collapsed on my chair and covered my hands with my face. If I had been at home, I could have teared up.
Lately, I've been consistently dreaming about two faceless men who always try to reach out to me. Unfortunately, the dream always ends with me waking up. This has been impacting my daily life - I've become short-tempered, and have been having trouble sleeping because the dreams are particularly intense at night. This even led to me falling asleep during a meeting like now, which isn't the first time.
"At home"
"It happened again?" Mom asked.
I just gave her a nod while in her arms. We have had this conversation before, so I did not have the energy to repeat the same thing again. She just gently stroked my hair, it always calmed me. I held on to Mother tightly as I began to sob slightly.
"What can I do? These dreams keep getting more frequent." I said. She may not have answers but she was someone who I confided in more than my therapist.
She held my chin, raised it to meet her gaze, and gave me a small smile before caressing my cheek.
"I honestly don't know how to help you my love, but I'm all ears. I'll help where I can." She said. I hugged her more.
She then got up, pulling me up with her. "How about you go out with Aram to pick up the twins, hmm?" I wanted to say no but I could never say no to her. I gave her a nod.
About 20 minutes later, I met Aram outside.
"Hi," I said.
He stayed silent but gave a nod with a straight face. Remember when I mentioned that I've been short-tempered recently? Yep! Aram experienced my anger, and now he isn't talking to me and has been avoiding me for a week and counting. It may be my fault, but it still hurts. We used to spend most of our time together, so his avoidance is making me sad.
Aram motioned for me to get in the car, and I complied. This time, Aram was the one driving. Just this once, our parents gave him the green light to drive instead of me. Ever since these dreams started, driving has felt dangerous. There was a time when I got lost in thought and nearly crashed the car. If it had not been for Father, I couldn't fathom what would have happened.
"Um Aram, I am deeply sorry for hurting you last time," I said when the atmosphere was getting suffocating. I prayed for a response.
He just looked at me blankly and then stared back at the road.
I clutched both hands close to my chest and looked at him.
"Please talk to me, Aram. Please," I whispered the last part. I missed talking to the goofy guy I call a brother. I miss talking to my best friend. He just sighed but kept on looking straight ahead. The whole ride was spent with music playing in the background, we were silent.
"At Sophie and Matthew's school"
Aram parked the car in front of the school that the twins attended, and we waited for them to come out. After a few minutes, the teens started pouring out of the school. However, when I looked out the window, I couldn't see the twins.
"Maybe I should go get them," I announced. He shook his head 'no', then made a move to get out of the car.
He did not spare me a glance and just proceeded to get the twins. I opened the car window and stared as he vanished into the building.
I was listening to "Lagos Love Story," a song by an artist named Ayra Star. It's really nice and has a great vibe. I got up from my seat and stepped out of the car. The same lavender-lemon and wet earth scents from my dream were nearby. I probably looked like a crazy person bumping into people as I walked.
I stopped in my tracks when I noticed two men in a store about 100 meters away. Both of them were equally handsome. One of them lifted his head as if he were smelling the air and then bolted out of the store, with the other man following close behind. They both gasped, their mouths slightly ajar. Thanks to my werewolf hearing, I could hear them well despite the distance between us.
"Mates" a soft voice I thought I'd never hear again sounded. My wolf, my wolf is back.
"Otto, it's been so long. I have missed you so much," I said to him through our link. Ever since we lost our pups, both of us became so depressed that we lost contact with each other. I kept him locked away, and he also isolated himself in the darkest part of my mind, if that makes sense.
The man with ginger hair had a big smile on his face, while the other man had just a faint smile, which was hard to notice. The ginger-haired man ran towards me, but when the other man shouted "Wait, stop!" I ended up freezing in my spot. That voice, no no no! Panic rose within me, and I dropped to my knees as I stared at them. The ginger-haired man stopped in his tracks as he saw my panicked face.
"That voice... This is the same voice from the day I lost my pack. I have the man who took a part of me as a mate. The other man kind of resembles the men from before who took advantage of me 5 years ago." It's as if some pieces of the puzzle in my mind clicked into place.
Tears streamed down my face as I violently shook my head. "I can't believe this, fuck no," I whispered.
"No, this cannot be true," I shouted. Soon after, loud wails erupted from me. The pain I thought I had moved from hit me like a rock and started pouring out.
I didn't care who saw me at that moment. I had far more worrisome things to deal with.
