27: Sightseeing

After the five of you had gotten back on the road after defeating Steely Dan, you all decided it would be best to take a ferry over the Arabian Sea to the United Arab Emirates instead of attempting to cross through the politically unstable border of Iran and Iraq.

After an overnight boat ride, you all arrive at around eight o'clock in the morning at the beautiful city of Abu Dhabi. From the ferry you see many interesting things, from tall, shiny skyscrapers to interesting historical landmarks.

"We'll actually have some time to look around for a bit!" Mr. Joestar says excitedly. "We'll want to get to the desert after the worst of the heat goes away, and since it's still early, I'm sure a bit of sightseeing wont do any harm!"

"Maybe I'll find a pretty girl here! Maybe even take her out on a date while I'm here," Polnareff says leisurely.

You— and most of the others— just scoff or roll your eyes upon hearing his words.

And maybe I'll just remember to stay far away from you while you go do that...

The ferry finally docks onto shore, all of you getting back into the car. Polnareff, being the one driving right now, eventually drives onto a main street of the city, allowing you to get a closer look at the prestigious looking buildings.

"Everything here just seems so... rich," You say, taking a look at all of the houses that line a particular street.

"Every house around here is practically a mansion!" Polnareff points out as he looks around.

"Mhm," Mr. Joestar says. "Houses like these would have costed millions of dollars back in America. It's not that unusual here, though. Despite this place being purely desert twenty-ish years ago, a large oil boom has made this city rich."

"Then there should be lots of things to do and see here!" You say excitedly.

You all pass a large building. "Polnareff, you can let us all out here," Mr. Joestar says, Polnareff nodding and slowing the car to a halt. "This is the headquarters to the oil company here. After we've all relaxed and looked around for a bit, let's all meet up here at around one o'clock so we can get going again. You can park the car wherever, Polnareff, just don't get a parking violation!"

Aside from Polnareff, you all get out of the car and onto the sidewalk in front of the tall skyscaper. "Monsieur Joestar, have more faith in me!" Polnareff pretends to be offended by the older man's words before laughing and driving away.

Mr. Joestar studies a map, holding it to where you, Jotaro, and Kakyoin can take a look at it too. Hospitality features such as malls, restaurants, and amusement parks scatter across the city map.

"There's so many different attractions..." Kakyoin says, looking at all of them, taking the map into his own hands. "What were you guys thinking about doing?" He looks between the rest of you.

"I was going to go find a coffee shop and get breakfast, then probably relax on the beach for a while. It's been a while since I've had a proper vacation!" Mr. Joestar laughs. "Are you three interested in doing anything?"

There's so many different choices!

"Hmm... I think-"

"Sea World."

Before you could finish your own sentence, Jotaro points to the location of the well-known aquarium on the map.

"Oh, I've never been to an aquarium before. That sounds fun! Noriaki, are you coming with us?" You ask as you look over at him. You know you'd feel bad if you left him out, plus spending time with both Jotaro and Kakyoin seems like a lot of fun.
