NANG makarating sa mansion ay iniwan din agad sila ng dalawa dahil may mga lakad pa.

They hold hands as they get inside the huge mansion. She can feel the tension in Luciferus’ body. Marahan niyang kinuskos ang braso nito para kumalma. Nginitian lang siya nito. Para silang mga teenager na magpapakilala sa magulang niya.

"Mommy!" Bumaba sa hagdan ang nagmamadaling si Everest habang may hawak na transformer collection nito.

"Baby!" She let go of Luciferus. Sinalubong niya ang anak at niyakap ito. "I missed you, baby ko."

"I missed you, too, mommy ko."

"Where's grandpa?" She asked her son who was looking behind her.

"He's upstairs in his office," sagot nito na hindi inaalis ang mga mata kay Luciferus. "Mom?"

She glanced at Luciferus. Lumuhod siya sa harap ni Everest at hinawakan ito sa magkabilang braso.

"Hey, remember when I told you that your real father had blue eyes?"

"Yes, because Daddy Max have dark eyes and mine is blue so we're not related."

She nodded. "Yes, baby. That man behind me," she whispered. "His eyes are same as yours. Don't you think it's kinda weird?"

"Is he my real father, mom?" Everest whispered too.

She nodded. "He is, baby."

"But he looked older than Daddy Max."

"Yes, he's the same age as Uncle Acid." She pertain to Acid Manhattan, Maximus’ eldest brother.

"Oh, that's cool! Is he gonna buy me a collection of my legos?"

She just nodded and let go of his arms. "Come on, kid. Greet him." Tumayo siya at bahagya tinapik ang balikat ni Everest.

Nahihiya pa itong lumapit kay Luciferus pero nagawa pa rin humakbang. Kita sa mukha ni Luciferus ang pagkasabik at mangha. He can't believe his eyes. He's staring at his heir. Akala niya talaga tatanda na siyang binata at walang pamilya pero ito, kaharap niya ang kaniyang anak. His own blood.

He kneel on his one knee to level Everest.

"Hey," pilit nitong pinapa- cool ang boses. "Your mom tell me a lot about you."

Namilog ang mga mata niya. She never done that! Wala pa nga itong alam maliban sa birthday at pangalan ni Everest. But she just let him, maybe it's white lies, because he don't know if Everest would accept him or not. He wants his first impression to be good.

"Really? Mom is cool, you know, she always tell me stories before I go to sleep."

"She did? That's so nice of her," Luciferus reach for Everest’s hand. Napatakip ng bibig si Melrose nang maramdaman ang nag babadyang luha sa mata niya. She can see in Luciferus’ eyes the admiration and amusement. His eyes were red. "I'm Luciferus, your dad, your real dad, anak."

He pulled Everest for hug. Tuluyan nang bumagsak ang luha sa mga mata ni Melrose nang makita ang pagpatak ng luha ni Luciferus habang yakap si Everest.

She sob quietly. Luciferus looked at her and mouthed ‘thank you’ she just nodded her head.

"Melrose,"

Pumihit agad siya paharap sa hagdan nang marinig ang ama. She wipe her tears and ball her fists. Seryoso ang mukha ni David habang pababa sa hagdan. She looked at Luciferus who stand up and hold Everest.

"Dad," she waited until he's down. Kita sa balat nito ang katandaan pero matikas at puno pa rin ng awtoridad ang presensya at tindig.

"You didn't tell me we have a visitor." David jerked his head to Luciferus. "Everest, can you go to your playroom for a moment?" Bumaba ang mata nito kay Everest.
