Chapter 43

I burst through the door of the cabin. My father standing in the middle, obviously waiting for me.

"Why didn't you tell me that you knew Rosé?!" a gentle tug at the corners of his mouth as he tries to keep his smile back.

"We didn't have a chance to speak properly!" I start to pace back and forth in the tiny space. Annoyance sweep over me.

"You knew we're near her territory, you should have told me. I'm a female warrior for freek sake! Meeting Rosé is like a dream came true and I almost attacked her! Oh gosh! I bit her in her face." I rub my hands over my face. My father lets out a small chuckle.

"We are not near her territory, Jisoo. We're on her territory." I stop pacing and stare at my father with my mouth open.

"She.... she let you build a cabin on her territory. Wait, are you part of her pack? Oh my goodness! My father is a part of the Blood Moon pack. WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!" my father chuckles again as he walks towards the door of the bunker.

"Let's first get you some nice clothes, then we'll speak." I nod eagerly, my mood improving drastically. I would cut off my foot to be trained by Rosé! Her story is so inspiring. Her mate was an evil man that always used to abuse her. So Rosé started training and one day the Goddess herself blessed Rosé with strength to stand up against her Mate. Wounds he gave her that should have killed her, only caused little damage. It was said that her mate became so afraid of her that he took his own life in hopes that Rosé would die after him. But the Goddess had protected Rosé. If you ask me, Rosé fought her way out. In the first year of her reign Alpha's from all over the world challenged her, she defeated them all but killed none. As years passed less and less wolves challenged her, for they all fell at her feet. She now lives at peace.... Wait! I quickly put some clothes on and walked out of the bathroom.

"Why did she let you build a bunker? What is going on?" I'm suddenly not so sure about this. Rosé lives in peace, letting us stay here will surely break that. My father gestures towards a chair and I take place. My mom eyes me in concern and I have a feeling that I'm not going to like this.

"Back when they thought i had killed your mother we needed a place to stay. Rosé's father took us in and hid us for a while, before we went on our way. Rosé was still a little girl back then, she's only a few years older than you. When we needed a place to hide again, i reached out to her. I taught her how to fight in exchange for staying here. Her mate could not find out, so we had all kinds of protection and cloaking spells in place."

"Wait, you knew her mate and didn't kill him?" My father makes a sad face while shaking his head.

"At first, i didn't know how bad it was. She always hid it well and we never really got in contact with her mate. When I found out I told her I could kill him. But that was what she was training for, she wanted to handle it on her own." I nod, i totally understand that. I would want to be the one who looked him in the eye and slaughtered him too.

"Nevertheless, when she heard you mated to the Prince she reached out. She had asked the King for help back when she just found her mate , he didn't help her. She has hated him ever since." That seems like something that our 'beloved' king would do, yes.

"I don't see the connection, What exactly are we going to do for her?"My mother's concern is getting more evident with that question. She refused to look at me in the eye.

"She wants you to kill the King and take his throne". Holy Crap!

"We can't just kill the King! He's my Mate's father! And if I kill him, Aerin dies too... Oh Goddess, Taehyung will kill me. The king will be extra protected now and he has a witch by his side. I'M NOT GOING TO KILL THE KING!" and yet something in the back of my mind says to do it. After all that he has put me through, after what he wanted to do to his own son.

"He's losing his sanity, Jisoo. Long ago he used to be a good king. When he found his mate his father immediately crowned him. His father never wanted to be a king, but Taemin did. Oh, how badly he wanted to be a king to do better for all. But soon he realised that Alpha's could handle only their own pack. So the king made his territory bigger. He murdered all the nearby Alpha's to gain their pack and lands. It stopped when he got attacked a few years back. He had lost a lot of people that day and rumours that he had almost lost his son too. He doesn't want to protect anymore, Jisoo. He wants power, purely power." I stand up and start pacing , this must have been when Taehyung lost Lia.

"Taehyung told you to go, Jisoo. He has been trapped there for longer than you. Maybe.... Maybe he didn't want you to get hurt" i stopped pacing. Never once have I considered if he just wanted to protect me. I thought he didn't want me anymore.t insecurities getting the best of me. He had been so good to me. He was there every time, even if I wouldn't let him in or when I got angry at him. How can I be so stupid?

"I want to meet up with Rosé!" There's no room for discussion in my tone. My mom and dad just nod before coming over for a hug.

"You don't have to babygirl! Nobody will blame you." She whispered in my ear but I didn't respond. Maybe I don't have to kill the King but I do have to see Taehyung.
