Chapter 45

"Well..well..well. A plot to kill your King. What a fortunate outcome for me. Now I won't need to lie when I kill you." I feel Rosé's back stiffens and I know the King has come out of the trees at her side. However I'm too occupied staring at the wolves that came out from my side. To my surprise I didn't see Jaemin.

"You enjoyed that burn so much you decided to come back for more huh?" My magic awakes in me, making a big circle of red flames around Rosé and me.

"Good girl. I knew you would use that little tricky of yours. Surely your father will have seen it burn by now. It'll make it much easier for me to kill you all. And you Rosé.. no longer the young girl who begged on her knees for help I see. Don't worry, you won't have to stand helplessly when your friends die. I will simply kill you too." Rosé lets out a shallow laugh that vibrated through my body.

"We'll see old man. I heard whispers about the King getting too weak to fight, so he worked his way around a challenge. I have always known you are a coward."

Fortunately I see the wolf before he knocks me down. I bring up my hands to push him away with a force of wind. My magic mixing, the wind also pushing the fire further. Rosé moves to my right and kicks a wolf away that has come to attack me from the side. But not before that wolf throws something to my face, I sneeze loudly before my fire dies down. I bring up my hand summoning my fire once more but my magic doesn't work. The King laughs once more.

"Silly Girl! Your magic is locked. let's see how strong you are without it. Capture the Princess alive! I need her!"

Five wolves that were waiting in the distance came towards me. I immediately shift to my wolf and feel Rosé did the same. I laid low when the first wolf jumped at me. Right before he was on top of me I jumped up my jaws closing on his neck. I pull hard blood streaming on my head. The wolf let out a small whimper before he fell to the ground. He is dead.

I felt a teeth sink on my left back paw and I let out a whimper. I kicked the wolf on his face with my other paw and he let go. I must have hit his eyes.
Another comes from in front while the one on the back jumps up on me again. I fall to the ground, two wolves having their teeth sunk into me. One holds my neck and the other holds me at my back. I bite in the stomach of the one that held me by my neck. I shook my head back and forth as I felt him do the same to me. I push harder until my teeth sink into his heart. His weight is heavy on me as death consumes him. I push him off with my front paws and howl in pain as the wolf at my back bites out a huge chunk of skin. In reflex I turn around. He didn't see that coming and flew off next to me on the ground. I get up wincing in pain and in one quick motion I tear his throat. I took a quick glance at Rosé. Bodies laid at her feet as she seemed to fight off the last wolf. Yet the King doesn't look concerned. I wonder why until a scent hits my nose. I quickly turn my head towards its source.
