Chapter 2: The Corruption Spreads

The group traveled for a little while till they could see the palace.

"Hey guys? Shouldn't we have seen skywings by now? We are in the sky kingdom." Blue stopped to hover.

"Blue's got a point. We really should have.... AGHHHHHH!" Green howled in pain as a firework exploded on his wing sending him plummeting to the ground.

"GREEN! HOLD ON! I'M COMING!" Second tucked his wings in banking into a deep dive. He caught up to Green then dove underneath him. Snapping his wings out to full length, Second stopped bracing for impact as Green slammed onto Second.

"STICKS! GAH THIS HURTS!" Green cried out in pain, a large burn across his wing.

Second flew up to the others. "Blue! Health potion! NOW!"

Blue tossed a health potion to Green and he chugged it. Everyone watched as Green then cried out again. This time code began to flicker from his injured wing. "WHAT THE STICK?! WHAT IS THAT?!"

A laugh then sounded, taunting them. "Oh to see your faces right now, hilarious." A purple form flew around, circling them. He then stopped and hovered facing them. It was Purple.

"What did you do to him?!" Yellow snarled. His barbed tail curled ready to strike.

"Back off, brainiac. You'll all find out soon enough." Purple laughed sliding out more rockets.

Second then noticed the logo on the rockets. A spider. The logo of the virabot, Dark's signature logo. Green balls of fire ignited around Second's claws and he passed Green over to Yellow.

Green groaned in pain, code continuing to flicker from the wound. He wasn't deleting but something definitely was happening.

"Purple, I don't want to have to hurt you. Dark is messing with your mind. I can help you. Just let me." Second flew forward slowly as to not cause any sudden movements.

"Oh, Second, my allies have big plans for you. Which means you won't get to know what's happening to Green or what will happen to your friends." Purple laughed spinning another firework in his claws, scanning for his next target. His eyes landed on Jade and he fired it.

The firework was then suddenly grabbed by a dark red dragon. They all watched as the firework went up in flames. The dragon then turned to Purple and snarled.

Purple hissed, fear flashing in his eyes. With the sound of a firework, Purple shot off.

The red skywing then turned to the others. "Friends of Blaze and Scorch, come with me immediately. Trust me." He then shot off.

"Guys? Did it look like that dragon was on fire?" Red asked.

"It did. But skywings can't set themselves on fire. So, how was he on fire?" Jade looked at the group.

"Can we deal with.... AGHHHHHH... that later?" Green asked, having to cut himself off as he screamed in pain again. "SECOND! FOR STICKS SAKE DO SOMETHING!"

"We need to land first. Take shelter and our best bet is to follow that skywing." Chosen then shot off.

The group nodded following him.

The dark red skywing looked at them. "You came. Come, come. We will rest here. Meet up with Blaze and Scorch then keep going."

"Who are you?" Fallen snarled as walked forward.

"Excuse my manners. The name's Vesuvius, Vesu, for short."

"Um, Mr. Vesuvius? How are you on fire?" Red walked forward as he asked.

Vesuvius looked at his claws, watching the sparks flicker off. "Oh that. I'm what is called a firescales, a type of skywing born with too much fire. Normally firescales are born in twin eggs and the twin without any fire normally ends up dying."

"How do you know Blaze and Scorch?" Chosen's eyes slowly glowed, as he stood in front of Second.

"So, the glowy eye story was real. Duly noted. Thought big brother was just making it up. Now how I know Blaze and Scorch? It's kinda hard to not know 'em specially when they are my older siblings. Now settle down, get some rest. Don't need to do introductions. I've heard all about yah from my older siblings." Vesuvius sat by the wall, keeping his wings tucked in.

Second walked over to Green. He then placed his claw on Green's wing. As he activated his healing powers, Green then began to scream even more. "Green?! This should be helping, why isn't It?"

"Sec, I think Purple's rocket had something coded into its explosion. I fear it may be corruption." Chosen walked over.

"NO! We've already lost Mango and Purple to the corruption! We can't loose Green as well."

Green then hissed snapping at Second. "Oh, you made a grave mistake using those powers on me. Only strengthening the corruption to help it spread faster." Green laughed as he got up. "As Purple said, we have big plans for you Second. You and those powers of yours." Green then charged, grabbing Second and dragging him to the exit of the cave. Green dragged Second right over to where Purple landed. Purple handed Green a muzzle and a large band.

Second struggled against Green. He then tried to bite Green's arm, only for the muzzle to be strapped onto Second's jaws and the band to be snapped around Second's neck. Each time Second struggled or tried to use his powers, it would shock him. Muffled yelps would come from Second as the band continued to shock him.

"Now, let's take him back. Dark said he would come to the sky kingdom to retrieve his little brother once we captured him."

Green grabbed Second again, only to yelp in pain and pull his claw back as a small laser hit Green's claw. "GET YOUR CLAWS OFF HIM!" The group then came out of the came.

Vesuvius walked forward, growling, heat emanating from him.

"Green! We need to retreat. We need to steer clear of that firescales." Purple ignited a firework and shot off.

Green slammed his wings following Purple.

Chosen ran over and removed the muzzle and band. Second had faint burn marks on his neck from where the band had been shocking him.

"So Green's corrupted now? Just like Purple and Mango?" Red looked up.

Chosen sighed. "Unfortunately, yes. We need a new plan and to hide. They will just keep picking us off one by one."

Vesuvius looked at them. "I know a place. Blaze and Scorch are already there, as well as a few friends of yours. Follow me."

The group then followed Vesuvius.

As Second flew, he looked at his claws. Dark made it so my powers enhance the corruption making it work faster. I can't use my powers to free them. I could make us loose them forever. I shouldn't my powers at all. My powers are just a danger and could make things worse for everyone else.

The group keeps flying and in hours they arrived at their destination. Possibility.
