Chapter 22: The Desert Monarchy

Hi guys!

I am so sorry for the lack of activity with this

Small writers block on this as well as some stuff going on in life tend to interrupt writing

I'm back and promise I will get more out

Just a reminder that this chapter along with chapters 21-27 all are occurring at the same time

Just different perspectives (chapter title will give which perspective the chapter is in)

Sorry about this one being a little on the shorter side

Crimson and Goldfinch glided along making their way back to the base.

"Crim, what exactly is our mission again?"

"We are to send Cobralily and General Rattlesnake back to the sand kingdom. Yellow is already there and will be awaiting the queen's arrival. Then he will get the queen settled on her throne once again."

Crimson then grew silent, as his mind traveled.

Goldfinch noticed immediately. "Crim? You good?"

"Oh uh. Yes I am. Come on we should keep moving." Crimson then slammed his wings going faster.

Goldfinch quickly caught up to him. "Crimson, what's wrong?" 

Crimson sighed. "What if.... What if The Dark Lord is still alive? By some chance he's still alive? And he comes after me, and re-corrupts me, turning me into Viro once again?"

"Crim, The Dark Lord is dead. You were there. You watched as Cadet plunged the sword into his chest, then snapped his neck."

"But, don't you remember what The Chosen One said? That hollowheads were extremely durable. What if he managed to survive this? I mean for sticks sake he survived being blasted by The Second Coming's full power."

"If The Dark Lord truly were alive again, I know for a fact that The Chosen One and The Second Coming would both eliminate him instantly, besides I feel that Cadet would come back and kill him again. So don't worry, if he somehow survived there are those who would deal with him. Besides, I wouldn't even let him anywhere near you. You are my best friend, Crim. If you don't want to ever become Viro again, then I will do everything in my power to protect you."

"Thanks, Gold, for everything." Crimson smiled.

"Of course, Crim. I'll always have your back. Best friends for life right?"

Crimson nodded, then looked forward spotting the base. "We're almost there."

The two landed outside and were greeted by Doombringer "We received that letter from that falcon from Red that informed us of everything. Cobralily and Rattlesnake are inside awaiting for your word. Finch, and Echo have already headed to Possibility, awaiting your arrival, and have begun helping the dragons there. I will escort the Cobralily and Rattlesnake to the sand kingdom. Then I will head to Possibility and help my friends." 

Crimson nodded. "Thank you for all your help, Doom. If you can alert the queen the kingdom is ready for her, Gold and I will began the journey to Possibility."

"I will do so immediately. May the moons guide your path." Doombringer nodded to them, watching as the duo lifted into the air and began making their way to Possibility. The tall tribrid then turned around and entered the cave. He then bowed to Cobralily. "Your majesty, the kingdom is ready for you."

Cobralily looked at Doom. "Then let's go."

Rattlesnake, Cobralily, and Doom beat their wings and began the flight to the sand kingdom.

As they neared, the large palace soon became visible. Once they were closer, they saw a bright yellow sandwing standing outside.

Yellow smiled seeing the queen arrive. "You made it!"

Cobralily landed and walked up to Yellow, and the bright colored sandwing bowed to her. "Come." She then made her way into the palace, with Rattlesnake right behind her.

Doom then looked at Yellow, as the sandwing rose to his claws. "If all things are good here, then I will be headed back to Possibility."

Yellow nodded to Doom. "I will be there shortly myself."

Doombringer slammed his long wings and headed to Possibility.

Yellow then turned and raced into the palace, quickly catching up with Cobralily and Rattlesnake.

Rattlesnake looked around. "This place looks different from when Venomara was in charge."
"Right after Venomara was dethroned and everyone headed off on their missions, I set to work on cleaning this place up, restoring it to how it looked when Cobralily ruled."

"You did a fantastic job, Yellow. Thank you." Cobralily looked back at Yellow.

"You're welcome, your majesty. I just hope that I can atone for everything that was done."
"You are not at fault young one. That was all Venomara's, Dark's, and Victim's doing. You do not need to apologize for something you were not responsible for."

The group arrived at the throne room and Corbalily took her place on top of the throne, with Rattlesnake next to her.

"Yellow, on behalf of the sandwings, I Queen Cobralily, would like to offer you the position of my advisor, as a thank you for all you have done to restore me to my throne."

Yellow looked at the queen. "Your majesty, this........ this is an incredible offer, but I cannot accept. I can't leave my brothers and friends, and I need to return to my own home. I'm not even from Pyrrhia."

"Very well, Yellow. I respect your decision. My offer will always stand if you ever decide to change your mind. Now may the moons guide your path."

Yellow bowed to the queen one last time, then headed out the door.

Arriving at Possibility, Yellow landed making his way to Doom's house.

"Yellow! Hey!" A voice sounded as Finch walked over.

"Hello, Finch. Is anyone else back yet?"

"Just Mango and Purple. They are already settled in a room in Doom's place. I believe they are resting." 

"That sounds like a great idea to me. See you later, Finch."

"Bye Yellow, if you need anything, myself, Doom, and Echo, as well as Goldfinch and Crimson, will be around town."

Yellow nodded then headed inside. He went straight to him and his brothers' room. Climbing onto his bed, Yellow removed his glasses, set them on the nightstand next to his bed and curled up, falling asleep instantly.
