Chapter 6: Rescue

Fallen stopped, hovering as the sky kingdom palace came into view. He then reached up, and removed his mask and the emerald bracelet on his wrist, the only things that won't go invisible with him. He had done a bit of work on metallic parts and made it so his power are still usable through the metallic limbs, meaning his wings, arm, leg, and tail won't be visible when he goes invisible. He slid the mask and bracelet into his into a bag hidden by his wings, went invisible and made his way over to the palace.

He landed outside, then slipped inside sneaking along, careful of his metallic claws, so they don't clink on the stone floors and give him away. As he was walking two voices made him stop. The voices belonged to King Orange and Purple. They sounded like they were coming his way. Fallen jumped to the side as the king and his right hand stick rounded the corner.

"Purple, Dark said that we can have those executions whenever I please. Well, I desire one now. Retrieve the leafwing with the injured arm. I'll start with her."

Purple bowed then dashed off to the prisons.

"Jade, no." Fallen whispered to himself. He glared at King Orange as the tall figure continued walking to where the sky kingdom arena was.

King flicked his tail as he flew down to the arena, and perched on the pavilion where Queen Skyfire would normally sit. "How pitiful. This place used for pointless little games when battles to the death could be put on here."

Purple then landed right bow King, with a graceful bow. "I have brought her, sire." 

An emerald leafwing was then dragged out into the arena and chained. Fear was in her bright amber eyes. She tried to use her powers, but the chains only stopped her powers.

A large burly skywing walked forward.

King then looked to the skywing. "You may do it, Heatwave."

Heatwave walked forward, curling his claws, then took the diamond sword that was handed to him from Purple.

Jade screamed and pulled back against the chains, yelping as the cuff on her injured arm, caused pain.

Suddenly, black dots of venom landed on Heatwave's shoulder making the burly skywing scream and jerk back.

Everyone looked around. Suddenly, something white that had an orange and red design began to float in the air. It was a mask. Scales rippled and in moments a navy rainwing, with burns along his body and metallic limbs, hovered there a loud growl rumbling from him. "Keep your claws off her." Fallen snarled, as he hovered.

King slid out his staff and spun it. "Take the leafwing back to the dungeons. I'll handle this intruder."

Purple bowed, jumped down into the arena and dragged Jade away.

Suddenly, Fallen disappeared and reappeared behind King. He then bit down hard on King's neck, not anywhere close to killing but enough to make the king scream in pain and anger.

King reached back and grabbed Fallen by the neck and slammed him to the ground. Fallen yelped loudly in pain and tried to run off, only for King to grab the wrist of Fallen's metallic arm.

Fallen smiled at King. "Shouldn't have grabbed there." A soft click sounded and King was sent backwards.

King look at his claws. A metallic talon now sat in his claws.

Fallen hovered a bit away from King. His one arm now only to halfway because of his metallic arm having been removed. He then dashed forward grabbed it from King, clicked it back on, grabbed the staff and flew off.

Jade lowered her head as she was aggressive shoved back into her cell.

Purple sneered at her through the bars. "Once my king is done with that little intruder that you call your boyfriend, we'll get back on track. So don't get comfortable in here. You'll be back out there shortly."

Jade looked up at Purple, a soft growl sounding in her throat.

"Hmmm. Someone's still a little aggressive." He then opened the cell, and walked over to Jade. He then grabbed her injured arm and began to bend it in different ways. Jade screamed in pain, tears streaming down her face.

"Claws off. Now." A snarl sounded. Fallen stood at the entrance of the cell, gripping the staff tightly, holding it right at Purple. "I will use this on you if you don't leave her alone." 

Purple laughed then turned to face Fallen, while still having a hold on Jade. Purple then shoved Jade to the grand and planted a claw on her head keeping her pinned. Her laughed as his claws began to slightly scratch Jade bits of blood trickling down her face.

Suddenly, an emerald tail flicked forward, slapping Purple in the face. The silkwing jerked back, his grip on Jade loosening.

Jade took the opportunity to run and ran straight into Fallen's arms. Fallen let the staff clang to the ground as he hugged Jade. "Jade, I was so worried about you."

A laugh sounded as Purple stood gripping the staff. "Time for you both to die." He held the staff pointed at Fallen and Jade.

"NO!" A voice roared and as a beam fired, a dark red dragon that had fired colored patterns on his legs, underbelly, and wings jumped in front of Fallen and Jade.

Vesuvius crashed to the ground with a loud groan.

"VESU!" Jade raced over.

"I'm alright. Us firescales are tough. Takes a lot to kill us." Vesuvius stood up, a nice size burn on his shoulder and side. Sparks flickered off Vesuvius as he stalked over to Purple. He then reached out and placed a talon on Purple's shoulder, leaving a burn mark.

Purple yelped in pain and dashed out of the prisons.

Fallen sighed. "We'll free him later. Let's get you all out of here."

Vesuvius smiled. "Luckily, these bars aren't as fireproof as they thought. Took a bit of work but I managed to burn through." Vesuvius then set to work quickly, and in no time he had the three tribrids free.

Fallen looked at the group. Jade leaned against Fallen. By now the bleeding on her head had stopped, and now her head had dried blood on it.

Doom sighed. "We can't go to Possibility. Luckily, I know of a place we can lay low. Let's get going, quickly." 

Doom led the way. Echo and Finch right behind him. Jade and Fallen were at the back of the group.

Jade looked at Fallen. "Thank you for coming for me." She then lifted her claw up pulled Fallen's mask off, then lifted her head and quickly kissed Fallen on the cheek.

Fallen flinched by the sudden movement and Jade pulled back. "Sorry. Sorry. That was completely uncalled for." She went to put the mask back on his head and he stopped her.

"Don't be apologetic, Jade. I just was shocked you did that." He then smiled at her and kissed her back. Fallen's was more than a quick kiss.

Jade smiled and blushed. Fallen then put his mask back on, as they heard talon steps coming their way.

"Hey, you two! We gotta go!" Doom called back to them.

After not too long of a flight, they arrived at the cave Doom had in mind. Sure enough it was well hidden. The group got settled and the three tribrids, along with Vesuvius all fell asleep quickly.

Jade and Fallen curled up next to each other, their tails intertwined with each other.

Fallen gazed up at the night sky and sighed. "Hope your mission was successful, Sec. Please stay safe." He then set his head down, curling his wing over Jade and fell asleep.
