"Crim, is that you?"

Viro snarled then stalked forward towards the golden sandwing. "Who in the sticks is Crim?"

"Crimson, it's me, Goldfinch! Don't you remember me? This has to be you. Your color its the same crimson that you are. But what happened to you?"

Cadet watched the interaction, the pieces of the puzzle clicking in her mind. She had heard that Viro had once been a normal stick that Dark had kidnapped and turned into what he is today. Although, she had never learned the name of the stick. The words of Chosen then played in her mind, from when they had captured Second and Chosen last year. You're Crimson! The stick that went missing!

"Crim, please. Snap out of it." Goldfinch walked over looking at the crimson hivewing.

"Your friend is still in there, just corrupted." Cadet looked at Goldfinch. "If Second was here, we could have him use his healing powers to undo the corruption."

"Second? As in The Second Coming? As in The Chosen One's little brother? The same Chosen One who was supposed to help me find my best friend, but gave up declaring that his little brother's safety was more important than finding my best friend, who, according to The Chosen One, was gone and wasn't coming back?" Goldfinch looked at Cadet. Tears were beginning to form in the golden sandwing's eyes. "Keep him and his little brother away from Crim."

"Then there is no way to free your friend. Second's healing powers are the only thing that can fix the damage the corruption did. This corruption virus is messes with and damages code. Second's healing powers are the only known thing to be able to repair and heal code." Cadet slid out on her dagger and began to spin it, eyeing Viro.

Goldfinch shook his head. "There has to be another way." He then walked over to Viro. "Crim, please. I know you are in there. Come back. Fight the corruption." Goldfinch then reached up and set his claw on the side of Viro's face, so they were looking eye to eye.

Viro didn't flinch away, instead he just stood there, almost as if he was in a trance. The look that clouded his eyes showed a war going on inside of Viro.

"Come on, Crim. Look into my eyes. It's me buddy. Remember who you are. You are Crimson, my best friend since elementary."

Viro shook his head and pulled back looking at Goldfinch. "Whoever this Crimson is you speak of is dead. Now stop being a nuisance and step aside so I can get that traitor and bring her back."

"No! Crim, I'm not giving up on you. I never gave up searching for you. I'm not about to give up on you now."

"Then you are in my way. And those in my way, perish." Viro flicked his tail and multiple virabot spikes appeared around him.

"Then kill me. If Crim has died, then there's no point for me to keep living. My best friend is gone. What else is there for me?" Goldfinch stood there, bracing for the impact of the spikes.

The spikes never came. Instead, a soft voices sounded. "Gold? Is that you?" The crimson hivewing looked at Goldfinch. Instead of the evil bright red, his eyes were a golden color.

"Crim?!" Goldfinch ran over. "Crim, it's me. I'm here."

"Gold, please help me. The corruption, it's so strong and it's fighting to control me. I can't fight it on my own." The crimson hivewing then collapsed, his strength giving out.

"CRIM! You! Glitchy! Can't you do anything?" Goldfinch looked at Cadet as he ran over to Crimson.

Cadet looked at Goldfinch and growled under her breath. "You and your friend are quiet alike. But don't ever call me glitchy again. And as I said, only the powers of the Second Coming can help him now. He can try to fight it but... Wait. Keeping him here. I'll be back." Cadet then glitched and she was gone, having teleported to who knows where.

Goldfinch rolled his eyes and turned back to Crimson. He spoke to Crimson in a soft voice, trying to help Crimson however he could with fighting the corruption back.

Hours later, and still no sign of Cadet. Crimson was growing tired, fighting the corruption having drained all his strength.

Goldfinch laid by Crimson, letting the hivewing lean against him.

Suddenly, a virabot spike fired up, barely missing Goldfinch's head. The sandwing jerked back hissing in anger as he saw the crimson hivewing's eyes were evil red again. Viro was back in control.

"Your friend is quite the fighter. Pity he drained his strength fighting me. I would have loved to use his strength. I'll have to settle for making him match as his own body kills his best friend." Viro laughed and readied to pounce.

Suddenly, a cadet blue rainwing appeared and jabbed a dark into Viro's neck. Bright green sparks flickered all around the dart as the bright green contends inside went into Viro's bloodstream.

Viro snarled staggering backwards. "NO!"

Goldfinch looked over at Cadet. "What was that?"

"The Second Coming's power. Just a fragment of it. Dark has begun draining Second. I saw that Dark had placed bits of Second's powers in darts and I grabbed them all. There's enough here for Chosen, the skittle crew, Purple, and King Orange, or whatever it is he really goes by, and that is not counting the one I used for Viro. We can fight this corruption."

"That's enough for me." A voice sounded and a navy rainwing flew in.

A leafwing landed behind him. The leafwing was followed by three tribrids and a firescales.

"We spread out. Dart each of the corrupted. Then once all are free, we attack the night kingdom. Free Second and defeat Dark." Cadet flicked her glitch-patterned tail, sliding the darts into a bag she had.

"Gold?" A voice sounded. It was Crimson's. He was back. Second's powers had worked.

"CRIM!" Goldfinch tackled the hivewing, hugging him tightly.

"He still looks like Viro." Jade commented eyeing the virabot tattoos along Crimson's arms.

Crimson hissed at Jade's tone and he turned into a virabot. "AGH! GOLD, WHAT HAPPENED?!" He then turned back into hivewing.

"Something went wrong." Fallen eyed Crimson, readying his powers.

"No, it didn't. This can be useful. For some reason, Crimson has returned, but he has retained all Viro's powers. The code that was edited giving him the powers must be an undoable code. But this is fine. We can use Viro's powers to get us access to the kingdoms and free all of the corrupted and put the queen's back on their thrones." Cadet spun her dagger as she planned.

"What of the sandwings?" Vesuvius looked at the group.

"Simple. We kill Venomara and chase Victim and his mercenaries out."

"Alright, we have our plan, and the cure. Who first?" Doom walked up.

"We start with the rainforest and free the potion maker." Cadet flicked her wings getting airborne.

"And netherwart addict." Jade added with a laugh as the rest of them lifted into the air.

The group flew, making their way to the rainforest, ready to turn the tides and end this once and for all.
