Chapter 13: The King and His Companion

King Orange flicked his tail as he sat atop the throne. HIs cold, stern gaze traveled around the room, till it landed on the purple silkwing that sat right by the throne.

Purple sat by the throne, awaiting any orders from King. His gaze was focused on the entrance, watching for any arrivals, good or bad.

"Purple." King's stern voice sounded.

Purple jumped, hearing King's voice, slightly startled. He got up, went to the front of the throne, and slid into a graceful bow. "What is it, my lord?"

"What is the most recent update from Dark?"

"From what I have heard last, Cadet has been showing signs of turning against The Dark Lord."

"And this Cadet, she's the glitchy rainwing and one of the creations of Dark correct?" King adjusted his crown as he eyed Purple. He then gave a small sign for Purple to rise.

Purple stood up, still keeping his head lowered, in a small, subtle bow. "Yes, sire, Cadet is one of the creations of The Dark Lord. The other is Viro, the red hivewing with the spider markings on his arms."

"So, one of Dark's own creations is rebelling against him?"

"It appears that way. Why do you ask?"

"If his own creations are turning against him, then why should we stay loyal to him?"

"My liege? I don't fully understand. What are you saying?"

King rolled his eyes and snorted in annoyance. "Use your brain, boy." King snapped, making Purple flinch back. "Dark is probably focused on that rebellious creation of his. I could easily take over this whole operation."

"I see now. What would you like me to do?"

"Do you still have the corruption fireworks?" King rose up from the throne, grabbing the staff.

"That I do." Purple pulled forward a bag. On the outside of the bag, the logo of a spider was printed on it. Inside the bag were the special fireworks that contained the corruption virus in their explosion.

"With a bit of tinkering, I bet I can change the virus to make those corrupted obedient to me, not Dark. We then use those fireworks on the rebels and then use them to dethrone Dark and make me the ultimate ruler."

"I will follow you anywhere. You are my king, not some virus maker."

"Good to see you have your loyalties in line. If you dare betray me, you know what will happen, boy." King slammed the staff down, to enforce his statement, and the staff crackled with power. Purple backed away, lowering his eyes away from King and the staff.

A skywing guard came in. "Your majesty, you have visitors." The guard bowed to King.

"Send them in."

The guard nodded to King and raced off.

Purple then watched as the four CG members rounded the corner.

King stalked forward, gripping the staff. "What are you four doing here? You have your orders from Dark. Why are you not listening?"

"We are here for you and Purple, Mango." Green held his head high as he looked at King Orange. Red, Yellow, and Blue all followed Green's example, holding their heads high, showing no fear, only confidence. Even as the staff crackled with power, the four brothers never showed any sign of backing down.

"They sure are gutsy, sire." Purple commented as he looked at the group.

"Being gutsy is going to get them killed, Purple. Now summon the guards and have the four of them locked up till I'm ready to deal with them."

Purple then whistled, but no guards came in.

A laugh sounded and a bright red hivewing with virabot tattoos along his arms walked in. A golden sandwing followed Crimson in. Crimson then smirked at King. "Your guards won't be coming. They try to come and they deal with Vesuvius, the firescales."

Cadet sat back watching the group. Her eyes narrowed and she snarled as she watched Crimson and Goldfinch stick close to each other the entire time, not leaving each others' sides at all. She then began to spin her dagger as she waited for them to finish so they could go attack Dark.

Green and Yellow each gripped a dart tightly. The two siblings then looked at each other and nodded, dashing forward at the same time. Green barreled into Purple, tackling the silkwing and Yellow scrambled up onto King's back.

King snarled doing everything possible to get the yellow sandwing off. Yellow just yelped and held on tightly. At one point, he was trying to hold on so tightly, his claws dug into King's scales, drawing blood, which only made King snarled in anger even more.

Purple and Green wrestled and rolled around the room. When one would end up on top, pinning the other, the other would then kick the other in the gut and the two would end up rolling across the room again.

At one point, Green managed to pin Purple and before Purple could kick Green off, Green jabbed the dart into Purple's shoulder, watching as the silkwing went limp.

A thud sounded and ever looked over. King had back up to a wall, and slammed his back against the wall. Yellow dropped to the ground, groaning in pain. Blood trickled from a fresh wound on his head, and from many scratches all along his body.

King gripped the staff and pointed it at Yellow. The staff then began to power on, as King readied to blast Yellow with it.

"NO! Don't do it!" A voice sounded. "DAD! STOP!" Purple ran over standing in between Yellow and King.

In the moment of distraction, Fallen raced forward, grabbed the dart Yellow had dropped and jabbed it into King's shoulder.

King snarled and collapsed to the ground. A soft clang sounded as the staff fell.

Blue then ran over and quickly set to work patching Yellow's injuries. Luckily, none of them were severely deep. Yellow would survive.

"Dad?" Purple walked over to King's quiet body.

"Purp?" King lifted his head and looked at Purple. "My son, you're alright." Mango then stood up, the crown and cape falling off him.

Purple raced over and hugged him. "DAD! YOU'RE OKAY!"

The two stayed like that, until Cadet cleared her throat. "Alright, we have everyone free. Let's get a planned formed and get this attack on Dark going."

The group nodded and they all flew off, to go meet up with Doom, Finch, and Echo, and to form a plan to free Second, Jade, Chosen, and stop Dark, once and for all.
