Chapter 12: The Musician

Green hissed under his breath as he looked outside his room window, gazing at the snowy landscape. "Must I have been the one to be sent to the kingdom with the worse weather ever?" He then looked at his wrist, eyeing the band Dark had given him. The band was specially programmed to make the wearer warm and not be affected at all by the freezing temperatures of the ice kingdom.

He sighed then went over to his bed, sat on it, put his headphones over his ears, and tapped his tail in beat with the music. Green knew that he should be out leading the icewings but he had no desire too.

"This is not what you were commanded to do." A voice sounded making Green jump. The Dark Lord stood in the room's window. A jet black figure stood behind Dark.

"Sir, I didn't expect you to be here." Green climbed off his bed, and set his headphones around his neck once again. "All is well here, no signs of any rebellions or the rebels themselves. Now, what do I have the pleasure of being graced by your presence for?"

"I fear the rebels may be up to something. Cadet has turned against us and I have not heard from Viro in a while."

"Any word from my brothers?"

"None. The only one who has reported in to me is King Orange."

"Dark, we have guests." The black dragon lowered his head, revealing himself to be The Chosen One. "It looks like Viro, and Green's brothers are traitors."

"Well, I have this new version of the corruption thanks to Second's powers. Looks like we get to test it." Dark laughed evilly. "Chosen, go back to the night kingdom and ensure that the machine is still draining Second. Once we have what we need, turn it off. Keep him chained. He goes no where without chains, a muzzle, and wing clamps." 

"On it, Dar." Chosen then shot off, using his powers to fly faster.

Dark flinched for a moment as he heard Chosen use the nickname that he given Dark, back in their early days, when they were destroying the internet. Dark quickly shook his head, snapping himself out of that. "Come. Let's go to the throne room and be waiting for their arrival."

Green nodded and went to the throne room. He then climbed onto the throne, and flicked his wings as he sat down.

Dark walked over to a wall and the virabot limbs curled forward. He then climbed up to the ceiling and hung from the ceiling, with the virabot limbs gripping the ceiling.

"And that is something I am never going to get out of my mind." Green shuttered as he looked to the entrance, as a red mudwing, blue rainwing, and yellow sandwing walked in. He then got up and walked forward to them. "What brings you three here? Don't you have kingdoms to run? Or did Dark send you three to man this kingdom with me?"

Yellow walked forward right up to Green. "Hey, little bro. I know you are there. So time to fight it and come back to us."

Dark snarled as he watched the interaction. "I knew it. Those three aren't corrupted. But how? How did they fight it?"

Suddenly dragons began to appear surrounding Green. Fallen had used his invisibility powers to make Goldfinch, Crimson, Jade and himself invisible. Cadet then appeared, using her own invisibility power. Vesuvius landed in the back, blocking any icewing guards from coming in.

Green snarled, snapping at each of them. Vines shot up from the ground and tangled around his ankles keeping him from flying off. Jade smiled as she used her powers to keep the vines there.

Dark watched, flicking his tail. "Guess I'm figuring out how they aren't corrupted anymore." He watched as Yellow pulled out a dart and jabbed it into Green's shoulder. Dark then hissed in annoyance and anger as he saw green sparks. "So that's where those darts went. I thought I had misplaced them."

Green then went back to normal, and Dark snarled as he watched Yellow, Red, and Blue tackled Green. Fallen and Jade cheered, as well as Goldfinch and Crimson. Cadet even smiled as she watched. She was smiling because she knew they were one step closer to Dark's downfall.

"Wait, they must have used that on Viro and he's been corrupted for years. A small fraction of Second's powers fixed a corruption that has lasted for years. I have access to the entire source of the powers. Imagine what a quarter of Second's powers could do for this corruption in strengthening it. I better get back. I have a lot more power that I need to drain now. But first, I'm taking that little traitor back with me and disposing of her." Dark then dove down, virabot limbs poised, ready to strike.

Suddenly something barreled into Dark and he was sent into the wall of the ice kingdom palace.

Green snarled as he stood there, his long tail lashing. The group then circled up blocking any escape routes. Jade use her powers and made vines spring forward and grab each of his legs. Four vines then came from the wall behind him and grabbed his virabot limbs. Dark was now completely stuck. He snarled and thrashed trying to get out of the vines.

Fallen walked forward. "Here is what is going to happen. You are going to undo what you did to Mango, Purple, and Chosen. Then you are going to release Second and leave Pyrrhia forever."

"Here's my terms. Release me or Second perishes."

"He's bluffing. He needs Second alive. I know it myself." Cadet snarled, sliding out her glitchy dagger. "He can't drain powers from someone if they are dead."

Suddenly the sound of a virablade igniting occurred and the vines all deleted. Dark shot into the air, his wings thudding as he hovered above them. "I'm going to enjoy going back and causing more pain than Second will ever know. And I'll make sure he knows that it was all your fault! Oh, I'll be taking her to ensure I'm not followed." Dark dove down, grabbed Jade, and flew off before anyone had the chance to react.

"JADE!" Fallen looked where she had been standing. A navy bracelet lay on the ground. He picked it up, opened a compartment on his metallic arm, put the bracelet inside, and closed the compartment again. "We still stay on plan. We free Mango and Purple. Then, we attack Dark with everything we have."

"What about Jade?" Vesuvius looked at Fallen.

"Dark won't kill her. He needs her alive to keep us from attacking. If he kills her, then he has no leverage against us." Fallen sighed as he looked at the group. "It hurts to leave her, but I can't have her get hurt or killed."

Green stood up. "Then let's get to the sky kingdom and free Purple and Mango as quick as possible, So we can then focus on saving Second, Chosen, Jade, and ending Dark once and for all."

"Victim and his mercenaries won't be a thing right?" Blue asked as they headed for the exit.

"Victim and the mercenaries are at the sandwing palace with Venomara. Once we defeat Dark, we can focus on Venomara, Victim, and the mercenaries." Crimson flicked his tail, as he got airborne.

Everyone followed. Pretty soon the sky kingdom came into view.

Cadet looked at them. "Here we go."

They all then headed right for the skywing palace.
