Chapter 7: Mission Gone Wrong

Cadet stopped and hovered. Second had to quickly stop so he didn't crash into Cadet. "Why'd you stop?"

"This is night kingdom border. Once we cross, we are in Dark's domain."

"Then let's not delay."

"You sure are one gutsy kid. I'll give you that."

"Well, look at who my brothers are. Runs in the family." Second laughed. "So we doing this or not?"

"Alright. Once we get closer. I'm going to need to chain and muzzle you. Remember, it's just for show."

Second nodded and the two of them flew over to the palace.

Once they arrived, Cadet had them land off to the side. She then clipped the band onto Second's wrist. "Blocks powers that's all." She muttered, seeing his cautious eye. Cadet then clipped a cover over Second's tail, over the stinger. She then looped the chain around his neck and gripped the end of it. "Finally, the muzzle." Second nodded and Cadet slid the muzzle onto Second's jaws. She then tightened it. "Alright. Now, my plan will only fully work is you act the part. If you just walk in and don't do anything then Dark might know this is an act. So just do something, but don't over do it." Second nodded again.

Cadet then walked forward pulling the chain leading Second into the palace.

As they walked through the palace, Second spotted virabots everywhere along the walls. Clearly the spidery creatures were making themselves at home in the nightwing's home. A virabot flew down to them and in moments the spider turned into a crimson red hivewing.

"Well, look who returned. Dark's pretty mad that you disappeared again." 

"Dark can go die for all I care. Well, my disappearance wasn't completely a waste." Cadet then yanked the chain forward, making Second stumble and fall to the ground.

"You got him?" Viro circled Second, as the young hivewing tried to stand. "And this really is him? No fakes?" 

Cadet then removed the band on Second's wrist. Second understood what to do and ignited a green flame and shot it at Viro then Cadet, to make it look like he was trying to escape.

Viro snarled grabbed the band from Cadet and clipped it back onto Second's wrist. The green flames then suddenly disappeared and a muffled growl came from Second. "That's the real Second Coming alright. Well done, Cadet. Might get you back on Dark's good side." 

"Like I care. Now can I deliver the kid? Or you gonna keep being a nuisance and getting in my way?"

Viro stepped back and let Cadet continue to lead Second.

Second continued to struggle against the chains, pulling on them more and more as they got closer to the throne.

"Cadet. I see you came crawling back. What is it this time?" Dark snarled as he sat upon the throne.

"Well, I bought a gift but if you are going to act like that. Then I guess I'll leave with him."

"What did you bring?" 

Cadet then yanked on the chain, making Second stumble forward again, this time crashing to the ground right at the base of the throne. Second looked up seeing Dark on the throne and his bright lime eyes narrowed, as a low growl rumbled in Second's throat.

Dark rose from the throne. "You got him?"

"Why do you think I've been away from the night kingdom? Just exploring? Nope! I've been tracking him and finally was able to get the chance to jump him."

Dark then walked right up to Second and grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up. "Finally, The Second Coming and his powers are mine. You are dismissed Cadet. I want to begin draining his powers right away."
