The silence was unbearable for Dan. He watched as Phil nervously twiddled his thumbs. Dan could understand why Phil was anxious. It was his girlfriend. If anyone should be anxious, it should be Dan. Dan felt as if even if she had a great personality, he would push her back outside, and steal Phil to himself, but Dan wasn't impulsive, so maybe he could control himself.
After 5 minutes, there was a knock on the door. Phil got up and opened the door revealing a girl with long, straight unnatural red hair. She was wearing bright red lipstick, a baggy grey jumper, jet black leggings and black boots. Okay, she was pretty, but there was something not quite right about her.
"Phil, we need to talk." Jessica said sternly. Her gaze fell from Phil, over across his shoulder to Dan. "Ah... You have company. Discussion in your room." She demanded, shoving straight past Phil and directly to his room.
Phil heaved before following her. And Dan was left in the living room by himself. He didn't know what to do, besides awkwardly wait and possibly overhear what they had to say... Or not. The only reason Dan didn't bring his phone because he didn't want to anyone to interrupt the time he had with Phil. He didn't know what to do at this point as Phil was straight and was probably interested in just being friends.
Dan got up and obliviously searched for the bathroom. Not that he needed to go. He then bumped into Jessica who had slammed Phil's bedroom and door and in the middle of storming over to front door until she stopped and turned around to Dan. "I don't know who you are, but Phil isn't so kind as he makes out to be!" Jessica exclaimed before speed walking outside and shutting the door. Dan stood in the hallway and noticed Phil hadn't left his room.
"Phil?".
Phil opened his door and walked past Dan to sit on the couch. Dan couldn't tell what Phil was feeling. Whether it was sadness, anger or nothing. Dan sat down next to him. "Are you okay? You don't have to tell me, but I'm here." Dan said, being comforting. Phil actually smiled, shaking his head. "I'm actually... Good." Phil laughed at how happy felt after splitting up with his girlfriend.
"I'm not sure I ever had feelings for Jessica, but she's gone, and everything just seems better.". Dan, unaware what to say gave him a thumbs up. When Phil wasn't looking, Dan just gazed at Phil. Into his light pool blue eyes. He felt like birds were fluttering inside his chest and some gigantic smile creep on his face. When Phil turned round, Dan quickly looked away and felt his cheeks exploding.
"Do you want to play on the xbox, watch a film, anything?" Phil asked.
Nope, Dan wanted to be in Phil's arms, kissing him. Dan shook the thoughts away, then thought what they could do without Phil being possibly weirded out. "Xbox, I guess.".
Phil got up and kneeled down in front of the TV, to place turn the xbox on. "You can chose what game we play." Phil told Dan, who was making his way over to collection of xbox games. "Halo Reach." Dan said, grabbing the case, and removing the disk.
For the next 4 hours, that's what they did. Phil glanced at the clock, then to Dan, who raging at the game. "It's 9 o'clock." Phil sighed.
Dan just shrugged his shoulders, still shooting people on Halo.
"Don't you need to go home?".
"Meh, my parents are gone for a few days. It doesn't really matter.".
Phil's eyes widened, but he said nothing. Dan was quite happy Phil had no excuse to get rid of him. It felt slightly devious and evil, but Dan couldn't bring himself to leave. It was dark outside, he would be home alone and why would he leave for that. It was more safe, warm, comforting and amazing aside Phil. As Phil wasn't playing anymore and Dan got bored, he turned the xbox off.
"You can stay over, Dan." Dan then smiled like an idiot.
"Th-thanks." Dan replied, still grinning.
An hour and a bit later, Phil gave Dan a pair of checked pyjama bottoms and showed him to the spare room, before going to bed. Dan slipped his jeans off straight away and jumped into the pyjama bottoms. He crawled into the spare, huddling his knees to his face, inhaling the smell of the bottoms. They strangely enough smelt like raspberries, but Dan liked it. This night, he drifted off to sleep.
* dream *.

"I love you." a familiar voice said. They were nibbling away at my neck... At one of my weakest spots, if not weakest. He lifted his face up to mine, and the second I saw those prominent, blue eyes, I realised it was Phil. His raven hair, his adorable grin, his everything. My eyes then adjusted to notice he had black cat whiskers and nose drawn on his face. Whatever it was about the cat whiskers, it made him so much more cute, but as soon as he leaned in, everything started to fade to darkness.

Dan woke up to find himself huddled against Phil. "How did I end up in Phil's bed?" Dan thought. Whatever the reason, Dan felt the warmth of Phil's body and his chin just touching his Phil's back. Phil's bare back. No matter how much Dan loved this feeling, he couldn't stay. Phil could wake up any time, and it wasn't worth the risk. Dan slowly removed his arms from around Phil and reversed off his bed and tip toed back into the guest bedroom.
He slithered back into his bed, pouting that he could stay in Phil's bed. Dan eventually figured that he must have slept walked, especially as he was having that dream. It was 5:00 AM, and Dan couldn't fall back to sleep, or understand why he woke up so early for that matter. His dream was playing on a loop inside his head and he just wanted it so badly, but what hurt Dan the most was that he didn't know if it would ever happen.
Later that morning, Phil knocked on Dan's door. "Morning." Phil chirped, in such a cheery, but sleepy tone. Dan couldn't help but smile. "Morning." Dan mumbled. Phil walked into the guest room. He wasn't shirtless anymore as he wore a black, fluffy dress robe and he was wearing white, also fluffy bottoms, which were incredibly adorable. Dan held the duvet to his face, hiding his uncontrollable beam.
"I think I heard you last night." Phil said, which caused Dan to start freaking out inside. He began to panic that he may of been saying things like 'I love you, Phil.'.
"You did?" Dan gulped.
"Yeah. I heard someone mumbling and possibly walking around... Do you sleepwalk?" Phil giggled, holding a hand to his mouth as Dan's cheeks exploded crimson.
"This might be the first time I ever have." Dan laughed, before sliding out of bed. He felt so sluggish, so weak and so laid back. The lack of sleep made him regret leaving the bed. Phil walked out into the kitchen and began to prepare breakfast. Dan, being very zombie-like this morning zoned out on the couch whilst Phil stared at him, trying to figure out what wasn't right... School, Dan wasn't at school and he would be very late if he still intended on going.
"Dan, you should be at school..." the older boy moaned, snapping Dan out of his day dream. "Crap. Phil, can I stay here? One day off school can't hurt, right? Pleeeaaasee." Dan pleaded, doing puppy dog eyes. Phil paused, then shook his head. "Okay, okay, okay.".
"Yay, thanks!" Dan said, almost squeaking. His parents were probably going to go berserk, but Dan couldn't honestly be anymore carefree.
