Chapter 47
Yin Rong got married on May 18th, and the Yin family's banquet began on the 17th.
Yin Hui deliberately chose to go there early in the morning on the 18th, so that she could see Jiang Weizhen who was welcoming the bride, and avoid the time when the Yin family was busy entertaining guests. At least the Yin family would be very quiet on the 19th.
Xiao Heng stayed at home, and Yin Hui followed Wei Ruo out of Donghua Gate. She got in the car and Wei Ruo rode a horse.
After the carriage set off, Yin Hui heard the sound of horse hooves beside her. She opened half of the curtain and saw Wei Ruo's figure facing the morning light. The sunlight was so bright that his face seemed to have regained its pre-sun whiteness.
"Aren't you in a hurry to go to the garrison?" Yin Hui asked in surprise. She thought he would leave as soon as he got on the horse.
Wei Ruo glanced at her and told Chang Feng behind him, "Follow the Madam for the next two days."
After saying this, he flicked his whip and rode away.
Yin Hui looked at Chang Feng. His square face was firm and steady, and his stature was tall and strong. He was indeed reassuring.
Jinzhan knelt in the carriage and guessed with a smile, "Third Master wanted to stay with you for a while, right? But you urged him to leave."
Yin Hui didn't think so. With one of them in the car and the other outside, and not talking, how could Wei Ruo have the leisure to do so? He even felt that a kiss on the cheek was unnecessary.
When the carriage stopped in front of Yin's house, it was still early and the guests had not yet arrived.
Uncle De, wearing a brand new fine cloth robe, came out with his hands behind his back to check whether the servants had cleaned up. He happened to see Jinzhan helping Yin Hui get out of the car.
"Madam is here!" Uncle De said with surprise. Madam didn't come to the eldest lady's wedding party yesterday, and the master was very disappointed. He thought that the second lady might not be able to leave the palace.
Yin Hui smiled and said, "My sister is getting married, how can I not come to watch the ceremony?"
The coachman helped take the gifts off the cart, and Chang Feng took them in his arms.
Uncle De led Yin Hui inside.
The Yin residence was decorated with lights and full of joy everywhere. The servants and maids who passed by in a hurry also changed into new clothes.
The second wife, Mrs. Zhao, was looking after the bride, Yin Rong. Yin Yong, Yin Jingshan, Yin Wen, and Yin Lang were sitting in the living room, not long after breakfast, discussing how to entertain guests today.
"Ah Hui!" Yin Yong stood up happily when he saw his little granddaughter.
Yin Jingshan stroked his beard and looked at Yin Hui with satisfaction. After all, his niece was now a noble in the palace, and it would be a honor for the Yin family if she came back to marry his daughter. When the son-in-law saw them, he would also think that the two sisters had a good relationship and would respect and care for his daughter even more.
"Why didn't you come yesterday?" Yin Yong welcomed his granddaughter in and asked with concern.
Yin Hui, "I was delayed by something, but I can stay at home tonight. Grandfather, how is the family going? Do you need my help?"
Yin Yong smiled and said, "Everything has been arranged. Your sister is getting dressed. Go and take a look."
Since the granddaughter can stay overnight tonight, the two of them will have plenty of time to chat.
Yin Hui nodded, and greeted Yin Jingshan and Yin Wen with a warm smile, as if there had never been any unpleasantness regarding the adoption between the two families.
Finally, Yin Hui looked at Yin Lang.
Yin Lang is fifteen years old this year, and this age is the time when people grow taller. When they met in the first month of the year, Yin Lang was about the same height as Yin Hui. Now that they stand together, Yin Lang is actually a head taller than Yin Hui, and Yin Hui has to look up slightly to see him.
Yin Hui couldn't help but sigh, "Ah Lang is growing up so fast."
He has grown taller and stronger, no longer as thin as an inconspicuous bamboo pole.
Yin Lang was not used to looking down at his sister because of the height difference, so he avoided it, then looked at his sister again and smiled, "I have been practicing martial arts recently."
Like Yin Hui, Yin Wen also had several gentlemen around him. Whenever Yin Wen was interested in something, the old man would immediately hire a famous teacher to teach him. Yin Wen was well-versed in both literature and martial arts, and became a famous jade-faced young man in Pingcheng.
After Yin Lang came to the Yin family, Zhao only arranged for him to study and never mentioned letting him practice martial arts. This was her way of telling Yin Lang that he was a bastard's son and should not dream of having the same treatment as his legitimate brother.
However, after Yin Lang was adopted into the eldest son's family, the old man also gave Yin Lang a martial arts master and a teacher to teach him how to do business.
"Well, I'm busy today. Tomorrow morning I'll come and see how your kung fu is doing." As she said that, Yin Hui pinched the young man's arm again. The skinny arm she pinched at the beginning of the year was really distressing.
However, just as she was about to exert force, the young man suddenly tensed his arms, using this method to show his sister his strength and power.
Yin Hui looked up in surprise.
Yin Lang looked at her and smiled. In just a few months, he seemed to have become a different person. He no longer had any inferiority complex or restraint, but became open and confident, as if he had been the eldest wife's child from the very beginning.
Yin Hui was completely relieved. Appearance is determined by the heart. Yin Lang was able to walk out of the shadow of his life experience at such a young age. As long as he is well cultivated, his future will be limitless.
However, although his little arms were stronger, they were still much tenderer than Wei Ruo's, and he even dared to show them off to her.
This childishness made Yin Hui feel very cute.
After saying goodbye to the three generations of grandparents and grandchildren, Yin Hui went to see Yin Rong.
"Oh, Ah Hui is here. I thought you had forgotten about your sisters at home after you married Gao Zhi."
Seeing Yin Hui, Zhao said in a gloomy tone, still resenting Yin Hui for not helping her daughter to marry a famous family man, which resulted in her daughter marrying a seventh-rank county magistrate. The county magistrate was transferred every three years, and it was unknown where he would be transferred next year. Even if her son-in-law was promoted, he was far away and could hardly help the Yin family. He was not as good as some famous families in Pingcheng, such as the general family Guo family, and the young generals in the three major guard stations of the Prince of Yan's Palace.
Overall, Zhao chose Jiang Weizhen as her son-in-law out of helplessness and was not very satisfied with it.
"Mother, there are many rules in the palace, and it's not easy for my sister to travel, so please don't say that." Yin Rong, who was sitting in front of the dressing table, turned around and reproached softly. Her look and tone were not false courtesy.
Zhao snorted and shut her mouth.
Yin Rong smiled at Yin Hui with a sincere look in her eyes, "I'm very happy that Ah Hui can come."
However, Yin Hui didn't believe that Yin Rong really treated her as a good sister. It was not so easy for a person to change.
"I'm glad that my sister doesn't blame me for being late. Go comb your hair first. The relatives should be here soon." Yin Hui said with a smile and sat on the chair next to her.
