"Hey, Snowbelle, can you come with me to the Bank in Town Square if you have any time?"
"For what?" the Glaceon looked up from her book.
"I need to withdraw some money from my account. I'm paying for all of us tonight, remember?" Lavender said quietly. "I've never been to Town Square in my whole entire life, and this is also a good opportunity to see and maybe choose a restaurant for us."
"Yeah, sure!" Snowbelle put her book to the side and got up from the sofa. "Let's go."
"Wait, where are you two going?" Melody looked up from the UNO match she was playing against Willow, Dewdrop and Cinnamon.
"Bank." Lavender answered.
"The one in Town Square?" Dewdrop clarified. "Like, the biggest known bank here?"
"Yeah. Why are you asking?" Snowbelle responded, a bit annoyed by all the questions.
Melody took out a bunch of Coins. "Can you buy an Eevee plushie for me?"
Dewdrop took out another pile of Coins. "Can you pick up a blue pillow in the same store for me? Preferably a Vaporeon one~!"
"Okay," Lavender went over to collect the money. "Come on, Snowbelle."
"Mhm." Snowbelle trotted to the door and opened it. "Let's go."
"Wait! One last th-"
The door was slammed shut. Dewdrop sighed and shook her head. "I wanted to thank them..."

"Did anything happen with Volt?" Snowbelle asked while the two trotted down the forest path.
"I talked to him for a bit, he seems chill and like the usual." Lavender glanced at the trees. "This still...just feels wrong. To your sister."
"Willow?" Snowbelle frowned. "Well, tell me about it. How does this feel wrong to you and Willow?"
"Everything. Volt likes Willow, I like Volt. I just feel like Volt should be with Willow." Lavender sighed. "It'd seem better that way."
"Ah, I get it. So you want the best for Volt, because you know that him being with Willow would make him happy." the Glaceon analyzed.
"...And I want to see him happy."
Snowbelle nodded. "I understand where you're coming from, but Willow doesn't like him back."
"Volt likes honest people." Lavender commented.
"Right, so, picture this: Volt confesses to Willow. Willow doesn't reject him and accepts it instead. How would you feel when the news comes out to the rest of the group?"
The Espeon stayed silent for a bit and thought about the question.
"...Mixed feelings, probably. I'd be happy for Volt and see how he's with someone that can make him happy, but then I would never have him."
The path went into a fork, and the two went on the left one.
"Now, tell me, would you want to see Volt be happy with someone else, except you will never be the one to make him happy like the one he likes?"
Lavender was silent again. Snowbelle stayed quiet for the Espeon to process her thoughts.
"I would want him to be happy, even if I wasn't the source of his happiness."
The Glaceon's eyes widened in surprise. "Interesting, I only thought this type of selflessness was only in doomed romance novels."
"I'm not selfless." Lavender shook her head. "I don't deserve to be called that."
Snowbelle stayed silent, expecting some further explanation. Instead, the Espeon bowed her head and didn't say another word. The two kept walking down the path, but worry began to cloud Snowbelle's mind.
"Lavender, I won't ask why you think that you're selfish, but, I know that the rest of us would definitely disagree."
The Espeon lifted her head up. "None of you know how I feel. Once you know, you'll agree with me in a heartbeat."
"Well, let's see if that's true."
Snowbelle had went offtrack, but both didn't notice that they were walking right into the forest. The trees all had similar arrangements, except the ones in the forest were just a bit more closer to each other.
"I'm not going to make you hate me." Lavender scoffed.
"I won't hate you, Lav. I promise." the Glaceon pleaded. "Just tell me what happened. We'll figure something out."
"We? I've spent basically the entire duration of my life trying to figure this out! A few minutes on a walk to Town Square won't just solve this!"
"C'mon, Lav, you're being s-"
Lavender stopped in her tracks. "See? I didn't even tell you the reason, and you're already calling me selfish!"
"I was going to say that you were being sensitive. You still are." Snowbelle stopped as well.
The Espeon paused. "I'm-...sorry."
Snowbelle bowed her head. "I'm sorry as well."
"Can we not talk about this, please?" Lavender asked.
"Yeah, if you don't want to, I won't force you to talk about this subject." the Glaceon nodded before glancing over and noticing something is wrong.
"Are we going to continue going-"
"Shh." Snowbelle shushed. "There's something. That saw us already."
"How do you kn-"
Suddenly, a Wild Nidoking pounced at them. Snowbelle grabbed Lavender and rolled to the side, barely dodging the impact.
"We went the wrong way! We're in the territory of the 'Polluted'!"
