[B1] Chapter 6: Mind the Mind

"Volt, you good?" 
The Jolteon didn't respond. Moonshade and Bonfire glanced at each other.
"He was fine just before, no?" Bonfire's body was a bit tense with suspicion. 
"Volt was literally just writing down stuff before he closed his eyes and fell back to sleep or something!" Moonshade frowned. "Heat stroke?"
"The weather isn't hot enough for a heat stroke!" the Flareon narrowed his eyes at Moonshade before going over to Volt.
"Dude, Volt, are you okay?" Bonfire asked the sleeping Jolteon.
Moonshade trotted over as well. "Is he out cold or something? Here, I'll check his pulse."
"Moon, he can't just die while writing a Pros and Cons list for his two crushes that he can't decide between!" the Flareon cried. 
"I mean, it's pretty rare for something like this to happen-" 
"He's not gonna die like this, that's just impossible." Bonfire interrupted. "Here, I'll try getting him awake."
The Flareon lifted Volt up a bit before starting to shake the Jolteon with all of his might. Volt didn't wake up to both of their disappointment. Moonshade tried to shake Volt awake, but nothing happened. 
"He's still warm, which mean he's alive." the Umbreon said calmly. "He probably just fell asleep."
Bonfire shook his head. "He snores when he's asleep."
"No, he only does when he's trying to annoy us during a sleepover," Moonshade shook his head. "He doesn't actually snore."
"Okay, well, about now...do we let him sleep until he wakes up by himself or wake him up now?" Bonfire inquired. 
Moonshade pondered for a moment. "Let's wake him up now."
"Agreed...well, he's obviously in deep sleep already," Bonfire thought for a solution. "And shaking him won't help..."
"What if we both shook him at the same time?" Moonshade suddenly thought of an idea. "Pull him out of his dormancy!"
"Great idea!" the Flareon agreed and the two picked Volt up by a bit before violently shaking him back and forth.
Somehow, even with this supposedly "brilliant" idea, the Jolteon still didn't wake up. 
"What else can we still do?" The two finally gave up after they got tired. 
"Should we just let him sleep in peace?" Moonshade groaned.
"No." Bonfire responded almost immediately. 
"Oh...ehm...okay..." the Umbreon nodded slowly with visible confusion on his face. "But we don't have any alternative solutions for this."
"You know the saying 'the more the merrier', right?" Bonfire leaded with another idea. 
"What, you're going to get the rest of them to come in and help shake him awake?" Moonshade narrowed his eyes.
"Do you also have psychic abilities like your sister or what?!" Bonfire had wide eyes, surprised that Moonshade predicted his idea. 
"Eh, not really. It was pretty obvious once you gave that saying out." the Umbreon shrugged. "You're the one to get the rest to come up though."
"Fine," Bonfire sighed. "So there's Cinnamon, Dew, Willow and Melody to ask for additional help."
Moonshade smiled. "I'm sure Dewdrop knows how to wake her brother up, so that's great."
"She does, trust me." Bonfire remembered something and held back some laughter. "I'll go get them."
The Flareon trotted out of the room, half-closing the door behind him. Moonshade wondered how Dewdrop would wake her brother up, but then came to the conclusion that it's probably similar to how Lavender used to wake him up. 

Bonfire trotted down the stairs to see Cinnamon and Willow sitting quietly in front of a television with no channel playing. Noticing Cinnamon's nervous posture, he felt some confusion and fear. 
"Uh...where's Dewdrop and Melody?" the Flareon asked. 
"Oh, hi Bonfire." Willow turned around and smiled. "They both said they're tired and went to go sleep."
"At this hour?" Bonfire frowned. "That's odd. Well, me and Moonshade kind of need your help..."
"Yeah, sure! What happened?" the Leafeon accepted the request. 
"Volt was writing a Pros and Cons list for his two cru-I MEAN-he was writing a Pros and Cons list for his two favorite video games that he farms almost daily! He was bored! You know what I mean?" the Flareon nearly gave out the confidential information. 
"Oh. Does he need help with it or something?"
"Nope, definitely not!" Bonfire blurted. "Uhm...sorry...I meant that he fell backwards while writing and he won't wake up."
"Did he pass out?" Willow asked, trying to sound surprised.
Bonfire answered hesitantly. "Uh...no."
"Oh. So what do you and Moonshade need my help with?" the Leafeon blinked. 
"We tried shaking him. Separately, together at once...he won't wake up." Bonfire sighed, his face growing more red from embarrassment. 
"Oh. Okay."
"So we're trying to wake him up, and we came to the conclusion that we needed more strength from the others to get his eyes open!" Bonfire concluded. 
"Oh. So you want me to help you shake him awake?" Willow glanced at a drowsy Cinnamon. "Hey! Why is everyone just suddenly falling asleep at this hour?"
"That's what I'm thinking," Bonfire commented. "Well, do we also get Dewdrop and Melody?"
Willow shrugged. "We could knock and check, but when Melody went to check on Dewdrop earlier, she got yelled at." 
"Whoa, alright." Bonfire nodded.
Willow and Cinnamon followed Bonfire upstairs and went into Volt's room. 
"Oi, Moon, you go and knock on Melody-"
"WHAT!?" 
"...'s door..." Bonfire finished his sentence. "Dude, you really are a simp. Even I can't defend-"
"SHUT U-...oh hi Willow. Hi Cinnamon." Moonshade suppressed his anger. "How's your day been?"
The Leafeon didn't think too much about Moonshade being on the verge of cracking and potentially going insane right then and there. "Fine, you?"
"Bad. Full of harassment." Moonshade glanced at Bonfire while forcing a smile. "Thanks for asking. I'll go ask them now."
"I think Dew might be done sleeping." Willow suggested. "Maybe check hers first?"
"Sure, thanks." Moonshade left the room, leaving Willow and Cinnamon with an asleep Volt and a Flareon that's trying his best to not burst out laughing like a maniac.
