"This is it?" Bonfire blinked as the group stopped in front of a tall restaurant.
"Whoa, it's so pretty!" Melody admitted. "It just doesn't really fit the theme that I thought it would be..."
"Well, how high are the ratings here?" Dewdrop asked Lavender.
"Pretty high, they said that it's peaceful even though a lot of Mons go here, and the service and food are all great!" Lavender replied with a small smile.
"Cool, cool." the Vaporeon smiled back.
"Are there cinnamon rolls here?" Moonshade suddenly asked.
"What?" Lavender frowned. "Cinnamon rolls?"
"Yeah, Sis, do they serve cinnamon rolls here?" the Umbreon repeated while Melody and Cinnamon watched behind him.
Lavender narrowed her eyes. "Wouldn't Cinnamon want to eat cinnamon rolls?"
"That's the point, Cinna wants to eat cinnamon rolls," Moonshade sighed. "I'm asking for her."
Lavender glanced at Volt for a split-second. "I mean, we can ask them if they can make some for Cinnamon."
"Yay!" Cinnamon cheered and Melody pet the Eevee's head.
"I wonder if they have a table big enough for all of us..." Bonfire commented.
"Probably do," Willow shrugged. "You guys wanna go in?"
"Okay!" Lavender pushed opened the door, but Volt suddenly grabbed her wrist and signaled her not to.
"You also coming in, or?" Willow glanced at the two of them.
"Uh, let Belle take care of the stuff. Say that there's two more coming later." Lavender blinked at the Leafeon, signaling her that it'll be okay.
"Alright then, be quick!" the Leafeon smiled and Lavender let go of the handle, the door slowly closing by itself after Willow went in.
"Uh, what do you want to talk about?" the Espeon glanced at the neat and clean posters on the windows. "Did something happen...or?"
"This is pretty quick, but please don't hate me after this." Volt sighed.
Lavender waited for a moment, then realized that nothing was happening. "...After what?"
"You'll know." the Jolteon bowed his head for a moment, guilt spinning in his eyes.
"Then why'd you keep me out just to tell me this? You could've told me on the way back...?" Lavender questioned.
"No, I'm planning to ask Willow out." Volt admitted. "If she doesn't let us be friends, then we can't. I really appreciate everything that you did for me and-"
The Espeon bowed her head. "Well, what if she rejects you? What are you planning to do after that? Are you just going to give up?"
"I'm probably just going to ask my other crush." the Jolteon sighed. "Although I know she already hates me."
"You're confessing in front of everyone?" Lavender narrowed her eyes, her anger covering her liking for him.
Volt shook his head. "No, obviously not. Once the news goes out, I'm either dating Willow or I got rejected."
Then, you suggest for him to ask her out. He gets rejected, you be a good friend, and your status will change into girlfriend.
Lavender suddenly remembered what Snowbelle had said about the plan before. The last part needed to be delayed because of his other crush that he might ask out.
Why am I so selfish? Why can't I just let him be happy with someone else and move on? All of this is clearly hurting him!
The Espeon smiled. "I'm sure Willow won't reject you. Anyways, I think we should go in before they start ordering."
"Thanks, Lav." Volt returned a smile, filling Lavender's stomach up with guilt.
She went to the door and opened it, letting Volt go in first. The Espeon immediately felt regret fill up her entire body and she felt stiff, but still managed to trot in after Volt.
"Oh, here they are!" Melody saw Volt and Lavender come in. "Over here!!"
"Oh, hi Mel!" Lavender waved.
The two sat down at the only empty seats, but Lavender decided to move her chair a bit closer to Willow.
"Hey, is everything alright?" the Leafeon asked quietly.
"No," Lavender whispered while glancing at the Jolteon, who was laughing about something with Dewdrop and Bonfire. "Well, he's planning to ask you out soon, and he also likes someone else so he'll ask them out if you reject him."
"He likes two Mons at once?" Willow had wide eyes.
Lavender nodded and the Leafeon sighed while shaking her head. "I'll tell Belle about this."
"About what?" Snowbelle, who was sitting next to Willow, turned around.
"The situation for Lav has changed..." Willow started explaining what Lavender had told her to Snowbelle in a low voice.
Snowbelle nearly choked on her sip of water. "TWO!?"
"Sh-"
Everybody stopped talking and turned around to look at Snowbelle with surprise, and even the restaurant seemed like it went dead quiet.
"...HUNDRED THOUSAND!?" the Glaceon immediately started coughing.
"Uh-huh...perfectly two hundred thousand bugs and errors..." Willow added. "Weird...I know..."
"Bugs and errors for what?" Melody asked curiously.
"Book about grand but not very well-known program projects," Snowbelle blabbered things that somehow made sense. "Got it recently."
"Oh." Everyone's interest went away and they started talking about other stuff, while the three sighed in relief.
"Dang, that was close..." Lavender put her paw on the other.
"But seriously? Two?" Snowbelle had disgust on her face. "I thought those were only in "choose who you like better" romance books!"
"Romance books are written because they're actual romances in real life, Belle, how do you not know that?" Willow did a facepalm.
"Still!" the Glaceon frowned. "Lav, what are you going to do about this?"
"That's why I'm asking you guys!" Lavender glanced at Volt. "I have no idea what to do!"
Willow suddenly came up with an idea. "Wait, Lav, you're definitely sure that he's going to ask me out, right?"
"Soon." Lavender nodded.
"I'll mention you to him. Say you're good girlfriend material. Say you're more of his type in my opinion. Say you'll make him happier than I would ever. How about that?" the Leafeon suggested.
"That's good, but it's still kind of risky," Lavender admitted. "What if he doesn't take your advice and just asks his second crush out?"
"Pretty sure you're his second." Snowbelle suddenly said.
Lavender went silent. The Glaceon shrugged.
"Look, Lavender, can you repeat everything that he said about his second crush? I don't just want to get your hopes up in a way that would end up hurting you when you realize it's not the truth. Wills and I will analyze this."
"Mhm!" the Leafeon nodded with a smile.
"Okay...he said that she'll already hate him after he confesses to Willow. And I think that's it." Lavender recalled.
"Alright...it's you." Snowbelle analyzed without taking much time. "I'm assuming you got hostile when he told you that he was going to ask Wills out, no?"
"I kinda did..." the Espeon sighed. "I got mad."
"Yup, it's definitely you." Willow agreed with her sister. "Congrats, I wouldn't even need to recommend you to him."
"Wait...no..." Lavender stared at the fancy table cloth. "He'd probably think I hate him, but I really can't bring myself to...even if I wanted to hate him for a bit just to feel better..."
"Alright, then I still will. For now, try recovering the relationship and pulling it back to the positives as fast as you can before he talks to me." Willow smiled. "Don't worry, I really don't want him as a boyfriend."
Lavender felt more guilt filling up. "I still feel like a horrid friend..."
"No, don't think of yourself that way. It's a win-win-win for you, Willow and Volt. Trust us." Snowbelle promised.
The Espeon sighed and finally nodded. "Okay, thanks."
"Mhm!" Willow nodded back, and a waitress finally came over to the table.
