"Dew?" Volt knocked on the door. "You awake?"
The Vaporeon, who just woke up recently, heard her brother and sighed. "What's up with everyone trying to wake me up?"
"You up from bed yet?" the Jolteon asked.
"Kinda..." Dewdrop responded back. "What do you want?"
"Geez, you're still mad?" Volt blinked. "C'mon, Dew, it'll be fine."
The Vaporeon went over to the mirror. "What will?"
"Whatever you're mad about."
Pain shot through Dewdrop's head and she winced. "I'm not mad."
"Then don't sound like you do." Volt noticed her voice getting lower by every new sentence. "You alright?"
Dewdrop wanted to respond with: "Yes..." or maybe even change it into a "No..." from all the pain, but she couldn't speak.
"Dew?"
The Vaporeon turned to look at herself in the mirror. Even her own reflection seemed like it was spinning, and Dewdrop had to go back to the bed to sit down.
"Can I come in?" Volt's concern started skyrocketing. "Just talk it out and you'll feel better! I promise!"
"No-" Dewdrop finally forced out another word, but more pain hit her right in the head.
Volt put a paw on the door. "Do you want me to check on you later? When you feel better?"
Yes, please.
Before Dewdrop could even get the two words out, she heard Volt sigh and trot away from the door. The Vaporeon realized that she needed to get herself out of her room to actually get help from the others, and slowly got up on the ground again. The floor looked wrong...the different shades of brown boards started to mix together into one disgusting shade...
Dewdrop wanted to throw up, but she knew she had to make it to the bathroom, and before that, she had to get out of the room. She took another step forward. The pain didn't change in any way, but her vision got even more blurry.
Someone please just barge into my room and help...
The Vaporeon still didn't give up and took another step forward.
What the heck even happened?
Suddenly, she shut her eyes and everything went dark. Dewdrop was still conscious enough to balance herself without falling over.
"Forget and heal." A barely audible voice rang out and echoed through her mind.
In just a moment, Dewdrop's eyes opened and all the pain faded like a barely lit candle under heavy rain. Tears spun in her eyes, but Dewdrop managed to absorb them before they rolled out. Nothing hurt anymore, but she could barely remember what just happened. It seemed like the recent pain was just a distant memory of hers.
"Well, I honestly hate hiding stuff from Volt," Moonshade groaned. "It just makes me feel bad."
"Real," Bonfire glanced at the bed. "Do we tell him this?"
"No, we should probably check for symptoms to see if our theory's still in present-tense." the Umbreon responded thoughtfully.
"I really don't think he still is, his voice went back to normal right before he left to get Dew." Bonfire shook his head.
Moonshade shrugged. "Okay...so do we just throw some occasional questions when making small tal-"
The door opened and Volt came back in with concern written all over his face.
"Yeah...oh, hi Volt. How'd it go?"
"She's still mad and she started ignoring me after something happened, but I'm not sure what it is." Volt sighed. "I really hope she's alright."
"Oh. Do you feel any better?" Moonshade asked.
Volt narrowed his eyes. "Do I look like I feel any better after my sister just yelled and then ghosted me?"
The Umbreon immediately knew he messed up. "Uh...sorry, I need to lie down."
"Just sleep here." Volt offered the bed.
"Oh. Uh, thanks?"
Bonfire sighed and decided to take matters into his own paws. "Well, Volt, did you ask her if you could go into her room and help?"
"Did. Got ignored."
The Flareon thought for a moment. "Maybe something did happen to Dew."
"Like what?" Volt immediately tensed up.
"Chill out a bit, it's just a possibility. Compare her old behavior and the one you just got. Wouldn't she have been sarcastic or at least respond according to past patterns?" Bonfire pointed out.
Volt went silent, and Bonfire glanced at Moonshade, but Moonshade was facing the other side and thinking about other stuff.
"You're right!...But should I go check again?" the Jolteon questioned.
Bonfire pondered for a few moments. "I suggest that you wait for a bit. Get some rest first."
"Dude, Moon's on my bed." Volt narrowed his eyes.
"Well, do you feel tired?" Bonfire asked. "Like before?"
Moonshade knew what the Flareon was trying to do and continued pretending to be napping.
"No, not really. It felt all tense and everything a while ago, and I felt like I had to sleep to get rid of it. You and Moon seemed unaffected, so it's probably just me."
"Wait, but what about Dew? And Melody?" Bonfire added. "Apparently, they also said they were tired, and it seems pretty similar to you."
Volt glanced out the half-open window. "Dew's awake, I'm awake, what about Melody?"
"Haven't checked yet." Bonfire admitted. "But like, wanna go downstairs and get some snacks?"
"Lavender's paying for all of our dinners in like, what, 2 hours?"
"1." the Flareon corrected, suddenly remembering another theory he had. "Also, did you ever sort out your crush problems while sleeping?"
"Well, I don't even remember what I dreamed about..." Volt sighed. "If only I could remember..."
"Right, you don't recall anything..." Bonfire decided to put his theory aside. "Oi, Moon, wake up and wake your girlfriend up!"
"Dude, what?" Moonshade sat up and turned around. "I'm dating Melody now...?"
"You want to," Volt laughed. "You're obsessed with her."
"I am.?"
"WHOA THERE!" Bonfire and Volt yelled at the same time while laughing like maniacs. "YOU CHANGED YOUR STATEMENT INTO A QUESTION!"
"NOPE!" Moonshade's face immediately went into a bright red. "NUH-UH!"
"HE DENIES!" Bonfire started choking on his laughing.
"YUH-HUH!" Volt's eyes were slowly starting to water.
"Geez, I'll go try to wake her up..." the Umbreon finally gave up in defeat.
"Be sure to ask her out when she does!" Bonfire was still coughing from laughing. "Get the bouquet of flowers that you have in the back of your closet for her!"
"I don't even have a bouquet of flowers in the back of my closet!" Moonshade narrowed his eyes before leaving the room, Bonfire and Volt still laughing like they were being tickled non-stop.
