"Just wanna feel your light, the fire inside - for the rest of my days." - Kygo

21 years later

"Stop glaring bubs." Bianca whispers into my ear as we walk along the shopping district in Bellagio on Lake Como. We're on our way to lunch at our favorite cafe, alongside our two beautiful daughters and their stupid boyfriends.

"No. I'm not happy about this." I grumble in response dragging my eyes away from the two couples and to my amazing wife. She laughs at me and pats my chest.

"Hate to break it to you Lan, but you're going to have to deal with it if you want to spend any time with your daughters this summer." She says knowingly, and I can tell by her expression that she's not too happy about these circumstances either but is making the best of it because she loves our daughters more than anything and is being the best supportive mom to them. I sigh and nod, then lean to kiss her just as we arrive to the restaurant.

"Oh my god, get a room." Daphne says with a groan but I can hear the smile in her voice. I still pull away from Bianca to glare lovingly at my oldest daughter though because she shouldn't be one to talk when she's holding hands with Jules Leclerc right in front of me.

"Could say the same to you." I say pointedly, giving Jules a glare when I see his other hand lingering on Daphne's butt, which he immediately moves when he sees me glaring. It seems like he's not a complete moron, at least not right now when he's already on thin ice after what he did to Daph earlier this year.

I'm still not completely privy to what exactly went down but basically he was dating Daphne's good friend, Liana Gasly behind her back, but once he figured out my daughter had been in love with him since childhood he led her on and broke her heart which in turn led her to date Max's son, Xander who happens to be my number one driver at McLaren. He's also on my shit list because he cheated on Daphne with Liana. Honestly, it's confusing as shit and all I know is I hate any stupid kid who thinks he deserves her.

Unfortunately my daughter seems to love the twat and I now have to deal with it. But thats why I'm none to pleased about him being here, but he's Charles and Lydia's kid so I'm not going to be a complete dick to him even though he deserves it.

"Daddy, we're only holding hands." Daphne draws my attention back to her and I roll my eyes.

"I know you've been doing far more than just holding hands Daph." I call her out, staring pointedly at the small circular bruise on her collarbone. She fidgets and tries to fix her hair to try to hide the obvious hickey but it's no use because I already saw it this morning when the two of them strolled in for breakfast, coming out of their shared bedroom, courtesy of B and much to my frustration.

"Come on Daddy, they're just young and in love. Give them some slack." Our other daughter, Ophelia chimes in and I turn to look at her alongside her boyfriend, Theo Russell, who is ignoring this whole situation and on his phone...yet again, completely ignoring everyone and everything; more specifically my daughter. I don't like him. He doesn't seem to like my daughter even though they've been dating for two years now and it pisses me off that she can't see it.

"Don't you remember how it felt when you and mom were newly in love?" Daphne adds to the conversation and that's when I feel Bianca wrap her arms around me. My eyes move to find hers and flashes of memories crash into my head from our tumultuous beginnings. We were so in love but the universe decided to test us, or I guess more accurately, test me. Bianca's eyes shine bright as she looks at me and I know she's remembering too.

"She's right you know. We could barely keep our hands off each other whenever we were together those first couple of months. Remember when my dad would flick you on the forehead to get you to take a step away from me when he thought you were too close?" Bianca says with a laugh and I smile fondly over the memories of those first few weeks we spent together before I screwed it all up.
