We walked over to the bank but immediately saw Sabrina walk into the bank.
"Look! It's Sabrina!" Banshee said.
"I saw. What is she doing back here?"
"Should we follow her?" Banshee asked.
"She could be up to something."
We went into the bank and saw her standing with Tiánshì. He handed her a God Crest
"This is for the contract with Marzanna."
She pocketed the God Crest.
"What?!?" Banshee cried out loud.
Sabrina immediately turned.
"You? Dear Lord do you ever know how to keep your noses to yourself?"
"Tiánshì? Why are you giving her-"
"Quiet." Tiánshì said sternly.
"Our business is over. Leave Máoyī and never return."
"Hmph." Sabrina walked towards us and out of the bank.
"Now then. Follow me." Tiánshì said before taking us outside. Sabrina was already leaving the area when Tiánshì walked up to a balcony overlooking the rest of the town.
"What was that all about?" I said.
He turned around.
"I am Lapis Dei."
"What?!?" Banshee cried.
"Yes, I am not dead. The body you saw was merely a fake."
"I found out that you weren't dead when the fake body didn't have the Crest. But you faked your own death? Why?" I asked.
"Indeed. As to why. Well, I didn't want to be a God anymore. I believe I have completed my duties as both a God and a ruler. So I willingly gave up my God Crest in a contract with Marzanna. She is the main leader of the Talons and Goddess of Ice."
"But why? The Talons are bad!" Banshee said.
"I created a plan to fake my death and see if the people of Máoyī could prove to me that they could defend themselves. I orchestrated the event of Percival to summon the God of Vortex. I knew he would try and summon him to bring me out after thinking that I had the God Crest."
He looked up into the sky.
"If things went wrong I would have stepped in and resealed Jiaolong myself. I would have stopped Percival as well. Seeing how the people seem to be fine without me. I will now pretend to be an ordinary person among them."
"But why?" I asked.
"Millennium upon millennium of doing the same thing. This nation was almost entirely reliant on me. I would like them to become more independent. Think if it as if I am the parent and this land is my child. I want them to grow up and be independent from me."
"So you faked your own death? And decided to work on your own Funeral?"
"I would like a proper funeral. So obviously I'm going to work on it by myself. Not only that but I actually like my new job."
"Wait! So if you are Lapis Dei..." Banshee turned to me.
"Don't you have anything to say?"
"Ah, can I ask you a couple questions?" I said after realizing what Banshee meant.
"Go ahead my friend."
"Do you know where my sister is?" I asked.
Tiánshì stood there motionless.
