Chris told us to meet him at the beach so after we get ready we head over there. I was alongside Trent and Lindsey as we talk about the day ahead of us.
"What do you think the next challenge's gonna be?"
"With Chris there's no telling." I say shrugging.
"Do you think it's gonna be a talent contest?"
"Lindsey, we already did that." I say raising my eyebrows at her.
"Good morning campers, today's challenge will test your minds, your teamwork, and your skills in the kitchen. You'll be cooking a three course meal and serving it to me. For tasting. The winners get a reward, the losers, will send somebody home. Each team will appoint a head chef to choose the meal, and to oversee the cooking. To cook, you need ingredients."
A truck reverses onto the shore and the doors open to reveal an assortment of different foods. The bass go over to the truck first and we follow after them. Geoff suggested doing Italian food and they all agreed to nominate him as head chef.
"Well at least you guys are getting along." I say to Bridgette who smiles at me. "Meanwhile our team is divided."
"Head chef called it!", Heather says. She always jumps at an opportunity to be in control. "Try not to screw up this time, okay?", she threatens Beth.
"And there goes any progress that had been made." I say under my breath as our team moves to rummage through the supplies.
"Just ignore her girl." Leshawna says to Beth when she sees her shrink in her space.
***confessionals***
Heather: "I had to take the leadership role, hello we're on a losing streak. And really everyone else on the team is pretty useless.
***confessionals end***
Heather stands with a clip board in her hand and starts barking out orders.
"Leshawna mangoes, Beth pineapples, Lindsey macadamias, Trent molasses, Gwen tomatoes, Y/n flour." We all begrudgingly carry crates out of the truck and go towards the kitchen.
"Gwen, Lindsey you guys are on the citrus macadamia upside down cake flambé."
"Know how to make an upside down flamer thingy?", Lindsey asks Gwen
Before she can answer, Owen comes in with a sack of oranges, but bumps into Heather. The oranges fall all over the floor and Heather scoffs. "Go back to the truck, and get more oranges." She demands.
"Trent, you, Y/n and Owen are on ribs. Leshawna and Beth, you're on pineapple skewers and mango dip."
"Girl, let me handle the appetizers. I know how to make a pineaplle chummy that would melt the socks off the devil!"
"Oh really? Well that's so great...But since I'm head chef. We're gonna stick to my plan. And my plan is pineapples with stick in them. Got in?"
I set my crate onto the table with Trent while mentally cursing Heather out for being bossy.
"Have any clue on how to start ribs?"
"Mmm I think we can just figure it out as we go. I'm better at desserts anyways. Me and my cousin like to bake with each other all the time. And when I was like six, I sat out at the end of my driveway with like twenty cupcakes and sold them. I mean people didn't really buy them, but like, it's the thought that counts." I ramble onto Trent while he just watches me.
"Hey Heather can we make cupcakes instead?"
"What are we, six? We're making classy foods and cupcakes don't fit with our theme." She says rolling her eyes.
