Chapter 37

Flashback continues:
Jungkook left the room with various thoughts in his mind. He reached his room and started thinking. 'Why am I unable to control my emotions in front of her? She is just my friend, but why am I feeling things. Is it love? No, I can't love her. This isn't right! But I am unable to get her out of my mind. What is happening to me' Jungkook was having all these thoughts in his mind.

He tried to get out of her mind and decided to sleep. After a lot of difficulty he slept with various thoughts lingering in his mind.

Meanwhile with Areum:
Jungkook exited the room leaving Areum in a dilemma. 'Jeon Jungkookkkk!!! Why are you doing this to me? I know, you treat me just a friend. But the way you behave is giving me a tingling sensation. I just hope you don't do this again' Areum thought.

She came out of her thoughts when someone knocked the door. She opened the door and saw Mrs Kim outside. Mrs Kim spoke "Areum-ah, dinner is ready". Areum nodded and went downstairs to have her dinner. During the whole dinner, she didn't even eat properly as she was engrossed in her thoughts.

"Areum, eat properly. Don't play with food" Jin scolded her but Areum didn't hear him. "Kim Areum" he said in a loud voice to get her attention. Areum flinched and looked around her as she didn't know what was happening. She noticed Jin looking at her with slight anger in his eyes. "What happened? Why are you looking at me like that" Areum asked being confused as she didn't understand the reason her brothers were staring at her.

"It's been 20 minutes and your plate is still full. And you are lost in your thoughts" Jin asked her coldly. "No-nothing, I am fine. I am eating" Areum said nervously. "Are you okay Areum?" Hoseok asked with a concerned voice seeing her restlessness. Areum nodded and said "Yes oppa, nothing to worry" and resumed her eating not wanting to continue the conversation.

Soon, all of them completed their dinner and went to their rooms. Areum laid on her bed still thinking about Jungkook. After sometime, she slept unknowingly.

Next day:
Areum woke up when there was a knock on the door. She took her phone and looked at the time with squinted eyes as she just woke up. It was 5:05 AM. She woke up with a jerk remembering that Jungkook might have come  for study session. She opened the door and saw Jungkook waiting outside. Jungkook looked like he didn't have enough sleep last night.

She let him in and went to washroom to wash her face and brush her teeth. She came out after 5 minutes and sat on the chair to start studying. Jungkook started teaching her but it wasn't like before. There was some kind of uneasiness between them. It wasn't uncomfortable but they were feeling restless.

Jungkook decided to end it, so he called her little seriously "Areum-ssi". "Yes, I am concentrating, you can continue" Areum said without looking at him. Jungkook sighed and said "No, it's not about that. It's serious, look at me". Areum looked at him hesitantly and said "What is it Jungkook-ssi". Jungkook took a deep breath and said "I don't know what happened but I am not liking this. Both of us feeling uneasy, let's clear it. I really didn't mean to call you that way yesterday. We were having fun and it slipped out of my mouth. I am sorry if you felt uncomfortable with that"

'That's the problem, you call me baby but say that it wasn't intentional. How should I take it? I don't know what's happening to me. I am starting to like you Jungkook-ssi. But, you don't see me in that way. I know that' Areum  was thinking in mind. "Areum-ssi" he called her to get her attention. "Did you listen to me?" Jungkook asked her. "Uhh, yes. I-It's okay. Actually I am sorry. I shouldn't have reacted in that way" Areum said with a low voice while looking down unable to meet his face.
