Chapter 29

Flashback continues:
Areum POV:
Jungkook-ssi was taking me somewhere and I was following him. Suddenly it started raining and we didn't have any umbrella with us so we stopped under a shelter. I didn't know it was so cold outside so I didn't wear any jacket or hoodie. I was just in a t-shirt and pants. I was shivering due to the rain and cold.

Jungkook-ssi noticed and immediately removed his jacket and gave it me "Here, wear it". I looked at him and said "No, thanks. It's fine" but he placed the jacket on my shoulders and said "You are shivering Areum-ssi". I gave a small smile and thanked him while wearing the jacket.

"It doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon" Jungkook-ssi said and I nodded agreeing with him. "You like getting wet in the rain" Jungkook-ssi asked me. "I always wanted to but no one allowed me telling that I would get sick" I said with a small pout. He forwarded his hand and I raised my eyebrows not understanding what he wanted. He held my wrist and said "Run with me in three, two, one"

Before I could process anything, he started running and I involuntarily ran with him. After a few seconds I realised I was running in the rain and shouted "It's so fun Jungkook-ssi" "You like it" he asked me and I replied "Very much. I love it" I said while running more fast while we giggled together.

He guided me to place still running in the rain. After we reached the place, we stopped and panted as we were out of breath due to running. We looked at each other and laughed for a few seconds. "It was so fun" I said to him "I know, right" he replied.

I looked around and saw the street filled with food carts and food trucks and there were lots of people eating and enjoying. He again held my hand and said "Come with me. I will take you to my favourite food places" and dragged me. He took me to a noodles place and ordered Kalguksu for both of us. After a few minutes, we were served the hot noodles. I took out my phone and clicked photo of the noodles to keep it as a memory of my first street food.

I never ate street food in my entire life. I only ate food served at home or at 5 star hotels. It's obvious that we would go to only 5 star hotel. I took a small bite of the noodles and I widened my eyes when I tasted it. "It's so delicious" I said out loudly which made both Jungkook and the shop owner to laugh. The hot noodles perfectly suited the cold weather.

I completed the whole bowl of noodles in no time. I was about to pay for the food but Jungkook-ssi interrupted me and spoke "What are you doing Areum-ssi? I am the one who should pay" "But-" I started but he cut me off "Nope, let me pay" he said and paid the person and we went from there. "Do you want to try dumplings or bungeoppang?" Jungkook-ssi asked me. I thought for a few seconds and replied "Can't we try both?"

Jungkook-ssi chuckled and took me to the dumplings place. The place was owned by a old lady. As soon as she saw Jungkook she said enthusiastically "Jungkook-ah, my son. How are you? You came here after many days" Jungkook-ssi smiled and bowed to her. He greeted her "Hi Halmeoni, I am fine. How are you?" "I am good as you can see" she replied to him. She continued "Who is this young lady Jungkook, is she your girlfriend?"

I choked on air listening to her and immediately waved my hands indicating a no. "I am Kim Areum. I am his friend" I said while bowing to her. "You are so beautiful just like your name" she complimented me which made me blush. Jungkook-ssi chuckled seeing my red face. She gave us a plate of dumplings and they were looking mouth watering. I clicked a photo of the dumplings and kept my phone back.

I took a bite of the dumplings and moaned to the delicious taste "So good!!" I exclaimed in happiness. "You like it?" Halmeoni asked me with a smile. I had a dumpling in my mouth so I gave a thumbs up with two hands. "How is your mom Jungkook-ah" Halmeoni asked. "She is good" Jungkook replied to her. "Take care of her Jungkook-ah" she said to which he replied "Always Halmeoni, you don't have to worry". Halmeoni smiled and patted his head softly.
