Erix
After Sylas left, I ran towards my room, hoping her powers didn't overpower mine. The moment I arrived in front of my door, relief sagged through me. The spell I placed was still intact, and I immediately drew my sword to dispel it. The moment my defenses fell, all I heard was the sweet melody, sweet as honey, drawing from my room.
The Princess sang a small song her brother taught her when she was younger.
Divine those who yield a sword
The most robust awareness of what occurred
vow I make to complete my fate
As I roamed around to seal your fate
She's never stopped singing that melody, and for what it may cost me, my heart aches the most as she feels most connected to her brother. Hoping his singing wouldn't stop, I slowly entered, ensuring she didn't notice me. Still, her power roamed throughout my room, slowly caressing me when she turned around, smiling. "How was it?" she asked as she approached me.
I gave her a small smile while rubbing my neck. How do I tell her that he gave me the green light to torture her? She grabs my face, forcing me to look at my beautiful blue eyes. "It's okay," she tells me, but it wasn't.
"Well, he wants me to find you, torture you, then hand you over so he can kill you. Of course, I put up an act and pretended that I was going to hurt you, and he bought it," I said as my voice began to trail off. Look, I'm not going to play saints here because I'm a shitty Vampire.
She looks at me carefully, searching for something in my face. I may be attracted to her, but I understand she will still be skeptical about me. Her eyes glowed as she touched my face, forcing me to look at her.
"He didn't sense me," she whispered as if someone was spying on us. Relief coursed through me that my mark had been able to remove Sylas's smell on her and any chain tied to him.
"That's good, but we still need to work on controlling your powers," I said, placing my chin on her head. Her tiny body fit perfectly with mine as we stood there for a few minutes, hugging until there was a knock on the door.
I sighed annoyingly as I walked towards the door. What does it take to have some alone time with her? To get to know her better? To shower her with gifts? To take her on dates? I shook my head as she sat on my bed, looking happily.
Caz was at the other side of my door as I glared at him. Again, he better have a good reason to interrupt me unless he asked for a death wish. He stood there observing us for a minute before pushing me out of the way and walking towards Aurora.
I slammed the door shut, shocked by the tremendous disrespect this guy gave me, as he grabbed a chair and pulled it close to her. She smiles at him before looking at me while I am fuming and giggling.
"Caz, you know better than just barging in like this," she said as that giggle turned into a laugh. Her hand tried to find the bed frame to stop herself from falling into laughter. I never knew someone's smile could make me feel warm and strange. Caz turned to look at me before laughing with her as well while I stood there as a fool.
"I'm going to borrow the Princess for a bit," he said as he stood up and extended his hand to her. I immediately stand between them and stare Caz down. There was no way in hell that I was going to let this man take her away—my only time to be with her and get to know her on a deeper level. He raised his eyebrow as he pushed me out of the way on my time. I used my powers to seize him before he even touched her.
"She's with me for the rest of the evening," I growled as I grabbed his face. I'm not a fan of this secrecy; no one keeps secrets from me. "Fine, I give up. I just wanted to prove my point to the Princess, but I also wanted to train her," he said as I finally released him. Point? What point is he trying to make to her? I looked amongst them as they both eyed each other and smiled.
"I told you he's a softie," he tells her before I immediately begin to piece together what they were doing. They were trying to see if I genuinely cared about her or even loved her. My face flushed red with embarrassment as I looked away. "You're falling," he teased me as he walked by me. I rolled my eyes and threw up a vulgar gesture as he walked away laughing,
