His hand left my shoulder and I watched him get tugged back by a guy I knew named Willy. They started to talk so I turned my body to face him. I kept my gaze above his right shoulder, right above the open , but untouched beer. I couldn’t look at him. I was blushing like crazy, and all I wanted to do was kiss him like thatagain. I watched a hand pick up the beer and rock it left to right. "You sure you don’t want a sip?" Stefan asked. He had one eyebrow raised and the corners of his lips started to curl up. I didn’t want to be a party Popper, and I needed something to stop my nerves from building up. I just shared my most amazing first kiss with a special guy named Stefan. Ah, Stefan. I quickly grabbed the beer from his hand and mine brushed his. I took a huge first gulp. It tasted like a not very sweet and slightly spoiled ginger ale. It was very bitter to say the least, and it took everythingin my power to not spit it back in his face. I slyly placed it into the sand next to me. He had a bewildered expression on his face and then replaced it with a smile. "I thought your mother said she would kill you?" ha, I bet she would. "No! I was just joking!!" I laughed out loud , she defiantly would. Stefan started to ask "So I was wonder-" A hand yanked me out of his view and out of my seat by my upper arm. "Kassie! She’s in the water..something is wrong, just come on!" Drew said in a rushed tone it sounded like a jigsaw puzzle. I thought of the only one thing that stuck, Kassie in trouble. I ran with Drew as fast as I could and we got stuck behind a crowd of people. I tried to shove my way pass but it was crowded with teens. Dancing. Laughing. Yelling. Parting. Then there was a gut curling scream. It echoed from the waters. Kassie’s scream. Everyone stopped and started whispering and I found a opening and started to run, but was pushed roughly to the side, ow. I tumbled a bit, it had been the side from where I was hit from Stefan. Ironically, I looked up to see the back of Stefan’s messy blond hair. I found my way to my feet and stared into the dark ocean sea. People were running out of the water, and Stefan was diving in. My eyes widened, and I felt the need to run and pull him back, and then go and save Kassie from whatever was wrong. I started to go, but a hand tugged me back right when I felt the water. I looked at this persons feet and then all the way up to Drew’s angry face, "What in the hell do you think your doing!, There’s a shark in the water!!!!" I stopped breathing for a minute. Stefan, this guy that I felt a strong deep connection with, and my best friend Kassie of 6 years, were now going to be shark bait. "I-I didn’t know, I , someone’s got to help!", Drew’s face softened "That guy you were talking to, he and his friends are going to help." I watched in horror as one by one a buff guy dove in. Stefan was already half way to Kassie. Another scream echoed. The music stopped. Stefan was there, where Kassie was. But Kassie wasn’t there. I looked to the right , feeling tears run down my cheeks, and then to the left, and I gasped. Kassie was swimming back. Relief swam over me when I saw her face. I couldn’t see anything from where Stefan and her were floating, and then horror fled through me again, Stefan. He was still out there, and now there were 5 blurry figures out there with him. I bit my lip, and then everyone crowded around Kassie. I tried to get in but there was no opening once again. From what I over heard, she was fine. Relief swept through me, and then worry all at once. I looked down, I couldn’t stand the anticipation, and now everyone from the bonfire was standing around. I was in the front, close enough from where the water came up from the shore. I let out a breath every time the freezing water touched my foot. It was the only thing reminding me to breathe.
