Giyu POV:

"Come on. Let's look for someone we can talk to." I said to Sabito, and then we split up, knocking on random doors one by one.

Mostly, no-one opened up. Maybe they just weren't home, or they were purposely ignoring us. I didn't know. It was so confusing. Maybe there was a demon nearby? There hadn't been any reports about Ajisaimura...

Sighing, I turned to a smaller hut with homemade decorations everywhere. It looked homely and welcoming, and I hoped it wasn't empty like everywhere else.

I knocked once, twice, and suddenly to my suprise, the door swung open. A short, young little girl stood there.

She had two chestnut-brown braids, wide blue eyes that looked pernamently frightened. She had dark circles under her eyes, and she wore a dirty white smock. She looked about seven years old.

A/N: drake is coming for her

SORRY I JUST HAD TO SAY THAT

"Hello?" I stared down at the little girl.

"Who are you?" The girl asked. Her voice sounded unexpectedly hoarse, like when you had a cold.

"I'm... Tomioka Giyu. Can I speak to your parents please?" I peered into the dark house. "Is your Mom or Dad here?"

"Y-yes." the girl frowned. "I mean no."

I blinked. "Huh?"

"Mommy and Daddy are sick." the girl looked up at me with wide eyes. "I don't think they can talk. But I can tell them what you need."

"They're sick?" I asked. "Well... can you tell me why there's no-one outside? I'm, uh, on holiday here and..."

"Everyone is sick." the girl said bluntly.

Something clicked instantly in my brain. "Is it a cold? Or the flu? Or... sorry, what's your name?"

"Asuka."

"Okay. Asuka, can you please tell me what symptoms your parents have?" I asked, crouching down to her level. "Like, are they coughing, or...?"

"Mommy and Daddy have very cold foreheads. But very hot arms." Asuka reported. "They sweat a lot. And sometimes they cough blood."

"Can they move? You mentioned they can't talk."

Asuka shook her head. "They can't talk. If they try, they just cough up more blood. Mommy stays in bed all day. Daddy sleeps. Sometimes he wakes up randomly and starts screaming, though, and then he coughs up blood too."

"As far as you know, does everyone have this same virus?"

"Yes."

A chill ran down my spine. "Did everyone fall sick at the same time?"

Asuka thought for a moment. "I think so. I remember the same day Mommy went to talk to our neighbour, she said they were sick. And then at dinner, she suddenly started coughing."

"So it spreads..." I murmured. Then I turned to Asuka again. "Do you have the virus?"

"I don't know." Asuka grabbed a braid and tugged it. "Sometimes my stomach hurts and I have to vomit into the toliet, but I don't cough blood. I can get up and talk and move."

"Hmmm.. I see." I turned to leave. "Thank you, Asuka."

"Wait-" Asuka reached out and grabbed my hand. I turned back, suprised. "Sir. You can't leave."

"What?"

She blinked her big blue eyes at me. "Daddy said not to let strangers leave."

"Why?"
