Author POV:

Shinobu took this opportunity to take a proper, long shower and put on some products. For the first time in a year, she did her whole skincare routine and slathered on as much hair mask as she could. She used all the random lash growth serums she could find and practically dumped her lips in coconut balm.

After pulling on a comfortable sweater and sweatpants, she dried her hair (happy to see it was bouncy and fluffy) and left the comfort of her room.

Outside, it smelled like the afternoon tea Aoi was preparing, but other than that, it just smelled like medicine and chemicals. Not the greatest smell.

Shinobu slipped into Kanae's office, and grabbed a small pink diary. Inside, all the current patient's rooms were written down in neat, legible handwriting. Shinobu quickly navigated to the Ts and found Giyu's name.

Room 7. Good. That meant he was close to top priority.

Generally the smaller the room numbers were, the more urgent assistance they got.

Shinobu had told the Kazuki to make him their first priority, but Kanae must've felt some cases were urgent. It was alright; she wasn't particularly selfish. As long as he was okay, then she was too...

But was he okay?

Shinobu tried to stop herself going down the rabbit hole of despair. She couldn't let herself get disheartened. He simply had to be okay; his case wasn't that bad yet, and she'd gotten the medicine right fairly quickly... yes, that's right. Of course he was okay.

If he wasn't... she didn't know what she would do.

Giyu POV:

The crisp-white walls of the room slowly faded into focus.

I blinked, my head fuzzy and throbbing. Everything hurt.

But I was awake. God, it was amazing to be awake. All my senses felt tingly and alive. I could smell what felt like soup, I could feel the cool sheets, see the small room becoming sharper...

Okay, but it hurt quite a lot.

I groaned, letting my head fall back onto the soft pillow. There was no point trying to get up; the pain would only get worse. I suddenly wanted to go back to sleep.

But suddenly, a loud, sharp voice stopped me from drifting back to Dreamland. "TOMIOKA-SAN! Are you awake?"

I blinked. "No."

I heard a melodic laugh ring out, and I let my gaze focus again as I turned to see a short, big-eyed nurse standing there. She had blonde curls and wore a white uniform. Was I in the Butterfly Mansion? What happened?

I suddenly gasped out in shock as the memories flooded back.
