In the dimly lit Ravenclaw common room, the air was alive with a mixture of excitement and anticipation as students discussed the upcoming Yule Ball. Lyanna sat on a plush armchair near the fireplace, flipping through a book absentmindedly while the soft murmur of conversations hummed around her. Lisa approached her, her expression curious yet concerned.

"Hey, Lyanna," Lisa began, settling into the chair opposite her. "Any progress with the egg?"

Lyanna sighed inwardly, her gaze flicking momentarily to the ornate golden egg sitting on the small table beside her. "Not really," she admitted reluctantly. "Every time I open it, all I get is that horrible screeching wail. It's starting to drive me mad."

Lisa frowned sympathetically. "That bad, huh?"

Lyanna nodded, her frustration evident. "Yeah. I have no clue how to even begin decoding the message. It's like trying to solve a puzzle without any clues."

Lisa reached out a comforting hand to Lyanna's arm. "Don't worry too much about it. You've still got time. I'm sure you'll figure it out."

Lyanna managed a small smile, appreciating Lisa's attempt to reassure her. "Thanks, Lisa. I'm sure I'll figure it out... eventually."

Lisa nodded, then changed the subject, trying to lighten the mood. "So, the Yule Ball is coming up. Have you thought about who you're going to go with?"

Lyanna chuckled softly, relieved to shift away from the topic of the mysterious egg. "Yeah, I have actually."

Lisa raised an eyebrow playfully. "Oh? Do I know him?"

Lyanna's cheeks flushed slightly as she considered her answer. "Maybe," she teased, not wanting to give too much away. "But you'll find out soon enough."

Lisa grinned, sensing Lyanna's reluctance to share more. "Alright, keeping secrets, I see. Well, we should focus on the Yule Ball first. It's going to be amazing."

Lyanna nodded in agreement, grateful for the distraction from the egg dilemma. "Definitely. I can't wait."

In the quiet of her dormitory room, Lyanna carefully unwrapped the package that had arrived from home earlier that day. Inside lay the culmination of her mother's efforts: a stunning dress, elegantly crafted and awaiting its wearer. With a mixture of excitement and nervous anticipation, Lyanna held the dress up against herself in front of the mirror, examining how it draped and fell.

Lisa, who had been studying nearby, looked up and gasped in awe at the sight. "Lyanna," she breathed, "you look absolutely gorgeous!"

Lyanna turned to face her friend, a smile spreading across her face at Lisa's genuine admiration. "Thanks, Lisa," she replied, her cheeks tinged with a hint of blush. "I'm glad you think so."

Lisa approached, eyes still wide with admiration. "Whoever your partner is for the Yule Ball, they're going to be the luckiest person there."

Lyanna chuckled softly, feeling a surge of gratitude for her friend's support. "I hope so. I just hope I don't trip over this dress," she added, a touch of humor in her voice.

"You won't," Lisa assured her with a grin. "You'll glide like a princess."

A princess. Lyanna thought. If it weren't for my circumstances, I would've been a proper princess.

She shook her head.

Lyanna turned back to the mirror, her fingers gently tracing the fabric of the dress. It was perfect, a reflection of Narcissa's love and attention to detail. Despite her nerves about the ball and the challenges ahead, she felt a surge of confidence knowing she had such supportive friends like Lisa by her side.
