As evening approached, Lyanna found herself in front of a mirror, adjusting her jacket and securing her wand. This was it—the moment she had been waiting for. She glanced at the necklace she still wore around her neck, the one with her name, and a surge of strength welled up within her. She wasn't just Lyanna Malfoy, the girl raised by the Malfoys. She was more than that—stronger, braver, and ready to face whatever came her way.
Sirius, however, would not be joining her on this mission. Though he desperately wanted to help, the reality was that he was still a wanted man, and the Dementors were as much a threat to him as they were to Harry. Lyanna understood this, but it didn't make the situation any less frustrating for him.
"Remember, Lyanna, you have to be extra careful," Sirius reminded her, his voice filled with concern. "If anything goes wrong, you Disapparate out of there immediately."
Lyanna nodded, appreciating his concern. "I will. I promise."
With a final nod, she made her way to the front of the house, where the others were gathering. Familiar faces greeted her—Mad-Eye Moody, his magical eye whirling as he scanned the surroundings; her estranged cousin, Nymphadora Tonks, with her bubblegum-pink hair that stood out even in the fading light; Remus Lupin, her old Defense Against the Dark Arts professor and someone she had grown particularly close to during her time at Hogwarts; and Kingsley Shacklebolt, tall and imposing, his calm demeanor offering a sense of reassurance.
Lyanna felt a wave of comfort wash over her at the sight of these allies, all of whom had fought bravely against the darkness. But there were others, too, who she hadn't yet met. Moody stepped forward to make the introductions.
"These are some of the finest members of the Order," he said gruffly, his gaze falling on each person in turn. "Elphias Doge, Dedalus Diggle, Emmeline Vance, Sturgis Podmore, and Hestia Jones."
Each of them nodded in acknowledgment, their expressions serious but welcoming. Lyanna couldn't help but notice that, unlike her, they were all cloaked, blending into the shadows with practiced ease. By contrast, she wore dark skinny jeans and her leather hooded jacket, which still managed to give her an air of sophistication—an echo of her upbringing in Malfoy Manor. Even so, she pulled the hood low over her silver hair, concealing her most distinctive feature as they prepared to set out.
Mad-Eye Moody gave the group a final once-over, his gruff voice cutting through the tension. "All right, listen up. We're heading to Privet Drive. Stay sharp and keep your wands at the ready. We're in and out, no unnecessary risks. Got it?"
Everyone nodded, and with a shared look of determination, they turned on the spot and Disapparated. The familiar sensation of being squeezed through a narrow tube engulfed Lyanna, and when she reappeared, the suburban quiet of Privet Drive greeted her.
The streetlights on Privet Drive flickered and then died, plunging the quiet suburban street into darkness. The only light came from the sliver of the moon peeking out from behind the clouds. Suddenly, hooded and cloaked figures began to Apparate around Number Four, where Harry Potter stood with the Dursleys. Their wands were out, ready for anything.
Harry, startled by the sudden appearance of so many wizards, jumped to his feet, brandishing his wand. "Lumos!" he called, casting a bright light from the tip of his wand, illuminating the faces of those around him.
"Who are all you lot?" Vernon Dursley demanded, his voice shaking with a mixture of fear and anger.
Before anyone else could respond, Lyanna stepped forward, her hood pulled low over her face. "Quiet, Dursley," she said in a firm, no-nonsense tone. The Dursleys fell silent, though Vernon continued to glower at the group.
