The Hogwarts Express finally pulled into Hogsmeade Station, the scarlet engine hissing to a stop amidst a cloud of steam. Harry, Lyanna, Ron, and the other first-year students spilled out onto the platform, their excitement palpable.
Lyanna's and Harry's robes shimmered grandly in the light, while Ron's secondhand silks showed a bit too much sneaker, a fact he seemed determined to ignore.
A booming voice called out over the hubbub, instantly recognizable and comforting. "Firs' years! Firs' years over here!"
Hagrid, towering over the crowd, waved a lantern to gather the first-year students. His presence was both reassuring and awe-inspiring.
As the throng of first years began to gather around Hagrid, Lyanna turned to Harry and Ron. "I need to find my brother Draco. He must be worried since I've been gone from his side for quite some time."
Harry nodded, understanding the importance of family. "We'll wait for you, Lyanna. Just hurry back."
Ron gave her an encouraging smile. "Don't worry, we'll save you a spot."
Lyanna smiled gratefully and quickly slipped through the crowd, her eyes scanning for the familiar platinum blond hair of her brother. It didn't take long to spot Draco, who stood near the edge of the platform with a slightly anxious look on his face.
"Draco!" she called out, making her way towards him.
Draco's eyes widened in relief as he saw her. "Lyanna, where have you been? I was beginning to worry."
Lyanna reached her brother and gave him a quick hug. "I'm sorry, Draco. I made some new friends on the train and lost track of time."
Draco raised an eyebrow, clearly curious. "New friends? Anyone I should know?"
She nodded, a smile tugging at her lips. "Yes, actually. Harry Potter and Ron Weasley."
Draco's expression shifted to one of mild surprise, mingled with a touch of disdain at the mention of Ron's name. "Harry Potter, really? And a Weasley, huh?"
Lyanna could sense Draco's typical Malfoy pride and prejudice bubbling beneath the surface, but she chose to focus on the positive. "Yes, really. They're both very nice. Now come on, we need to join the others before Hagrid leaves without us."
With a final nod of understanding, Draco fell into step beside his sister, their bond evident in the way they moved together.
As they approached Hagrid and the other first years, Lyanna saw Harry and Ron waiting for her, true to their word. She slipped back into the group, feeling a sense of belonging and excitement for the journey ahead.
Hagrid's booming voice once again cut through the air, directing the students towards the boats that would take them across the lake to Hogwarts. "This way, firs' years! Follow me!"
Lyanna glanced at Draco, who gave her a reassuring nod, and then at her new friends, Harry and Ron. Together, they followed Hagrid, the towering figure leading them to their new home.
The sight of Hogwarts castle, illuminated against the night sky, took Lyanna's breath away. She knew, as they crossed the dark waters of the lake, that this was the beginning of something truly magical.
Lyanna was mesmerized by the crystal-clear waters of the lake. She leaned slightly over the edge of the boat, watching the reflections of the stars dance on the surface. The tranquility of the moment captivated her, making her momentarily forget where she was.
Her reverie was abruptly interrupted by Hagrid's booming voice. "You there! Don' be trailin' yer fingers in the water. Yeh might find yeh don' get 'em all back."
Startled, Lyanna, Harry, and Ron turned to see who Hagrid was scolding. It was Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle, who were all leaning over the side of their boat, their fingers skimming the water's surface. Draco looked particularly annoyed at being called out.
Lyanna laughed softly, catching Harry's attention. "Good thing you're not such trouble like your brother," Harry remarked with a grin.
"Oh no, I'm much worse," she replied with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, laughing.
Peering into the black water again, Lyanna saw her own pale face reflected back at her. Suddenly, a soft glitter of light danced on the surface, capturing her attention. She looked up and gasped as the magnificent castle of Hogwarts drifted into view, its turrets and towers illuminated against the night sky.
Hogwarts. The place where her adventures were about to begin, filled with magic, friendship, and endless possibilities. She felt a thrill of excitement and anticipation as the boats carried them closer to the castle, her heart racing with the promise of the future.
As the boats approached the shore, Lyanna felt a thrill of excitement and anticipation. The castle loomed larger and larger, and she knew that within its walls, her destiny awaited. She glanced at Harry and Ron, who were equally mesmerized by the sight, and smiled. Together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead, their bond of friendship already forming.
The boats glided gently to a stop at the shore, and Hagrid helped the students out. "Firs' years, this way!" he called, leading them up a winding path towards the massive front doors of the castle.
Lyanna took a deep breath, her heart racing with the promise of the future. As she stepped onto the path, flanked by her new friends, she felt a sense of belonging and purpose. Hogwarts awaited, and with it, the start of a new and magical chapter in her life.
