Chapter 5

I stand at the microphone, gazing into the crowd, finding Tobias. When our eyes meet he just looks down. What did I do? He did tell me to choose what I want, and now he's not happy with it? It's not his desicion it's mine. I force myself to move and remain back into my seat.

 The rest of the time goes on, each person picking there job. 

Uriah - Goverment,

Lynn- Goverment

Marlene-Dauntless Tattoo Artist,

Peter- Dauntless Trainer,

Will- Government,

Christina- Dauntless Trainer.

When the ceremony is over we all head back to the dormitories, to gather out things and head to the apartments across from this building. I walk along with Tobias, Christina and Will. We walk in complete silence, no one saying a word. No voices, no noise. Just the sound of our steps on the hardwood. I feel like I dissapointed Tobias. He hasn't said one word to me, and his opinion probably won't stay in there forever. It'll have to come out sometime soon. Not excited hearing what he has to say.

When we reach the dormitories, Tobias waits in the hallway, as Christina, Will and I , get our things. I grab my duffelbag and swing it over my shoulder, having a good grip. Christina's the first one to speak.

"Well, Will and I  are going to go." She lets out a sigh. Then she walks towards me and gives me a hug. I freeze for a minute, then wrap my arms around her.

"You know we'll see eachother tomorrow" I say

"Yeah I know" she laughs.

She releases her arms, as I do the same, then her and Will, walk off together. I walk towards the door then turn around and look at it one more time. I show a small smile. This place, this faction showed me more than I was in Abnegation. It showed me that, I was brave and I could do anything I set my mind too, and it showed me that bravery and selflessness are quite alike.

I turn back around then walk with Tobias down the hallway. He takes my bag from my arm and, he carries it. When we walk out of the dormitory building, I decide to speak first since, we haven't said anything since my choice.

"You haven't said anything to me" I say.

"Because" He takes a breath.   "Because I don't think you made the right desicion Tris."

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"Tris, you are more than a dauntless trainer. You didn't get ranked #1 for no reason. It's because you proved to everybody you could."

"Tobias. This is what I wanted." I spit out.

I can't believe he's saying this, he told me to go with what I wanted, and now that I did, he's not okay with it?

"Are you sure about that?" he asks.

Now, that I think about it. Was it for me? Or was it for him? Did I really want this?

"Yes, I am."  I say.

He stops in the middle of the walk, and faces me. His dark, blue eyes, catching mine.

"Tris." he says.

I put my head down, not speaking for a couple seconds. 

"You know what?  You were the one who told me to go with what I wanted, and now that I have your not okay with it? I know this is right, and you just." I sigh, "You can't keep telling me different."

"I didn't excpect you to choose that."  he says.

I shake my head. "That?" I laugh. "You've chosen the same exact thing."
I walk faster, pacing up the speed not wanting him to look at me. But, he easily catches up to me.

"If that's what you wanted, keep it that way. But, don't come to me and tell me it wasn't the right desicion."

Tobias was right. Everything he said was right but, I didn't want to admit being wrong to him. He knows I deserved better than that. I should have been listening to what would benefit me, not my wants.

But, it's too late. I've already told another lie. To him and myself.
