Once we reach my new apartment, I can't help but smile. In Abnegation I would never thought in a million years that i'd pass Dauntless Initiation. Thinking back, when I first jumped onto the moving train, and now being here, it's just amazing. But coming here was so much harder than I ever expected. So, I guess it's a 'win, win, situation,' since i've passed and am officially not an initiate anymore.

Tobias sets down my luggage, and we both look around. Tobias and my apartments are exactly the same layout so, it's nothing new to me since I've been in his apartment a couple times. He looks at me and grins at me, and I just smile back.

"My room is just a level above yours." he says.

I just nod and sit on the couch that has been given by the Dauntless. They don't give us much when we first move in. Just a couch, coffee table, bed and some things for our bedroom and a couple appliances. It's a simple room but, we actually have decorations which are forbidden in Abnegation. In Abnegation we can't have anything that's like this. It's so different here. So new.

I wonder if my mother and father would be proud of me. That I made it this far. That I finally succeeded at something. That i've finally been able to be somebody. Been able to be me. To discover who I am, as a person.

I am sure that my mother would be proud of me. She told me she doesn't care what I chose. I remember her words exactly.

'I don't care what faction you choose.'

Those words she said to me on Visiting Day.

But, what about my father? He didn't bother to show up for Visiting Day. Would he care? He thinks i've betrayed him. He wouldn't care. He was mad at Caleb and I was there to see it. I wonder what he had said about me. Was I just as bad as Caleb?

I shake the thought out of my head and look up at Tobias. He comes and sits beside me and we glance at each other for a few seconds. I remember the first day, I met him. Then the Ferris Wheel. How he came with me anyway, after I told him it was okay. And the way he made me feel.

I sigh.

I miss those days but, I think we'll be closer than we ever were before.

I hope.

"Well I'll let you unpack. I'll be in my apartment if you need me." he says.

"Wait." I say.

He just stands there.

"I'm sorry." I say, "About earlier. I shouldn't have gotten upset. It's not your fault."

He just nods and walks out, without saying another word.

Tobias was hard to make it up to.

I don't bother getting up when he leaves. I don't feel like unpacking right now. So, I just lie down on the couch and fall asleep.

I wake up to a bag full of clothes that I never bothered to put away. I'm so lazy.

I get up from the couch and carry my bag to the bedroom and begin to put away my clothing in the dresser, neatly stacked on top of each other.

When I finish, I look at myself in the mirror. It's weird that I finally get to look at myself whenever I want now. Not wait every 3 months to look at myself. There's some things I miss about Abnegation but, this is certainly not one of them. I sigh and look into the mirror.

Same childish look.  I tell myself. Your always going to be the same.

I'm tired of looking this way. I mean, i'm in a new faction now and, I've changed my name but.,  I want to look less childish. I don't want to look this way anymore.

There were a pair of scissors on the nightstand. I just stand there, staring at the object. I want to pick it up but, I refuse and walk out.

I just shake my head and erase the thought out of my mind. Would I have ever actually cut my hair? Would I take that chance to just be different? I don't know if I ever would. But I wanted to right? Who knows anymore. Not me. Once I take a few steps into my living room, the door swings open.

It's Christina.

"Tris." She says breathless.

She must of ran here. She sounds panicked and worried, not really sure which one.

"Hurry. Come. It's something about the Divergent."

"What? What do you mean?" I ask confused.

Divergent. What about the Divergent? I start to panic when I realize it's going to be something involved with me.

"Just come" she says.

And I run, as fast as I can, following right behind her.
