Trisha POV

"But I have one condition," I heard Maasa say, and my smile weakened. The thought of irritating Yuvraj seemed to me backing off as soon as she added. "You both will do some rituals,"

I looked at Yuvraj, who was looking at me, too. "What rituals?" he asked, and Maasa just smiled.

"Tell me if you will or not?" she asked. He looked at me again momentarily before nodding slowly and calculatingly. "I will," he finished.

In no time, we all walked to his chamber. As we sat in an open area on two low-height stools opposite each other with a metre-long space between us, she asked a few attendees to bring a few things I had no idea about. Daadisa sat on the couch, always smiling. "I hope Nandani stayed for this at least," she said, and I remembered what Queen Nandani was about here.

And somewhere, I felt as if she was right about those feelings. She stayed here for three days, and not even once did I find Yuvraj talking to her. All this while, she had been nothing but supportive of him. She did not even say anything to him this time after he behaved way too rudely with her.

I could overlook any of his stupidity or deeds, but he was knowingly hurting his family. He knew that his words would bleed them, and he enjoyed the pain of it.

"I told her to, but she is right in her place. We are all here to welcome the new bride, but she is all alone, and most importantly, she is the Queen. One has to go when the duty calls," Maasa said, putting a wide milk vessel between us.

"I think something is wrong. Rudra did not come to take her, either. I hope everything is fine between them," Daadisa said, and suddenly Yuvraj interrupted.

"Can you please stop talking about them? Their wedding is over. Can we focus on mine?" He asked in a slightly irritated voice. We all looked at him.

This angered me, and I inhaled deeply, trying to control my tongue in front of the elders.

"Abhinandan, I am not talking to you. I am talking to your mother," Daadisa said in a severe tone, and this time, I could tell she was angry. "I hope we still have the freedom to talk about whoever we want to," she added, and Maasa glared at Yuvraj too.

"Sometimes, I highly doubt that you two are twins," she said, and Yuvraj looked at me with a slight blink.

"You meant in a good way," he said to her mother, but she did not answer.

She picked up the rose petals' plate and scattered a few handfuls of them into the milk.

"Abhinandan, can I have your ring?" she asked, and he looked at his hand. He still was not wearing any, except the one he had stolen from me. Looking at me momentarily, he took it off his thumb and gave it to her.

"Here," he said, taking it from his hand. Maasa looked at me with a beautiful smile.

It eased up my heart, too.

"Trisha and Abhinandan," she called both of us. "I will put this ring in the milk, and you both have to find it. Whoever will do more times out of thrice will be considered to have a winning hand in the future," she explained, and Yuvraj looked at her.

"In what?" His voice was low, and she looked at him.

"In everything, like making decisions and winning arguments. It's like the one who will dominate," she explained further, and he looked at me.

"Who won at your time? You or Baapusa?" He asked, and suddenly, Daadisa interrupted. "We did not do this at Abhishree's time. But, she won since day one," she said, and I could not help but notice how brightly Daadisa's eyes sparkled every time she talked about Maasa. It was as if she was immensely proud of being her daughter-in-law.
