Trishalini POV
I had never felt happier than this before.
The Kingdom was shining bright with decorations, people, and happiness; suddenly, I felt like the happiest person in the World.
Life was back to where it was and a thousand times better.
The misunderstandings had cleared, the conversations had begun, the tease was back, and Abhi was finally at peace.
Yash and Harsh soaked the guilt of his father's death. The need to prove himself worthy had been fulfilled in these six years of our marriage. The new laws had proven to be better. Initially, the Kingdom faced some scarcity, but slowly, the profits began to appear.
The staff was loyal and happier.
"Trisha,"
I immediately turned around to find him walking in. All the attendees took a step back.
"You are not ready yet?" he asked, and I looked back at the toe rings I was sliding in.
"Just a little more time. Yash and Harsh were playing and not getting ready. So, I had to interrupt," I explained and felt him taking the steps closer to me.
Nandani Jiji's Pehli Pihar and his victory Pooja were done. Now was the time to celebrate and feast.
I needed to change into fresh attire as the one I wore for the Pooja was ancestral and sacred.
"Ekaant,"
"Privacy," he said, and my hands froze on my toes. Sitting on the chair, I had my feet over the small stool. And, noticing the attendees walk out of the dressing room, I straightened up.
The door closed, and I could not help but remember the intense, heated night we could not spend together.
"Um, why are you here?" I asked, rising from the chair, noticing him through the mirror's reflection. He was still in his white kurta, the soft curls of his hair falling over his forehead hid his tilak a little, and his eyes dark with intensity.
Approaching closer, he shook his head and pulled the chair aside.
"I just wanted to check on you," he stopped, and I felt his hand on the side of my waist, slowly curling around. "And to tell you how beautiful you look in this," he added, stepping closer.
My heart skipped a beat as I felt his warm chest against my back. I smiled, lowering my gaze and pretending to take my bangles off.
"Thank you," I breathed. His other hand curled around my waist, too, and leaned into the side of my neck.
"I love you so much," he whispered, and I felt my head tilt sidewards as he kissed my cheek.
My jewelry tickled, and I touched his tied ones over my belly.
"Abhi, hume vastra badalne hai, koi aa jaega,"
"Abhi, I need to change; someone will walk in," I said softly. He looked into my eyes through the mirror. The dark lashes stared at my face, and suddenly, I smiled.
"You look beautiful today," I said, and he gently pulled back and held my hand as he turned me around to face him.
"Did anyone say anything to you?" he asked, and I knit my brows, shaking my head.
"No— why?" I asked, and he pulled me closer, cupped my cheek gently to brush his thumb beside my lips, and thinned his brows.
"The former King of Singarh was in the Pooja, too, and I found him staring at you," he said, and I smiled a little.
