Trisha POV

After getting ready, I left him and walked outside. He fell asleep again. I was terribly late.

Pitaji would return soon, and I had not even boiled the milk. I walked out, fixing the dupatta on my head and sat down to light the fire on the stove.

The brightness would spread around in some time.

I kept the milk to boil and went to broom the courtyard. And, by the time I finished boiling and broom, my sight fell on Pitaji walking in.

"Uth gayi, Trisha?"

"Woke up, Trisha?" he asked, washing his hands from a pot and I smiled while pouring the milk into the bowl.

"Ji, Pitaji, how was your walk?" I asked, he dried his hands against the white cloth hanging around his neck and nodded with a weak smile.

"Leave all this. How is your new family?" he asked, sitting near me and I smiled, nodding my head.

"Everyone is good, especially Maasa and Daadisa," I said, and he looked at me with slight confusion.

"Maasa and Daadisa?" he asked, and I nodded with a soft chuckle.

"Ji, I call them that," I said and placed the milk before him.

"And, what about the King?" he asked, and I poured him the last night's remaining Khichdi. He had the habit of eating Khichdi and milk in the morning.

"He is good too," I said, passing him the bowl and he asked all of a sudden.

"And, what about this spoiled brat?"

I lowered my gaze with slight nervousness and nodded slightly. "He is good too," I managed to say.

"I hope he does not hurt you," he said, and I shook my head.

The only he hurt me was our marriage day, and since that day I could not expect anyone to hurt more than that. Because he already set the bar really high.

"No, he behaves nice," he said, and I nodded a little.

"He asked me for my opinion on an administrative decision too," I could not stop myself from saying. No matter how much I tried to ignore it, it made me feel immensely good. The way he listened to me, showed me that he valued me from my own point of view.

"hnnn, that is good. Well, you are my longest and most knowledgeable student. He should know that you can use wisely for the Kingdom's welfare," he said, and I chuckled.

"I am not that knowledgeable, Pitaji," I muttered with slight timidity and he shook his head.

"People will value you when you will learn to value yourself, Trisha. Your life is not what it was before. Now, your words will be recorded, your orders will be obeyed and your responsibilities will increase," he said, and I nodded with a smile.

"Ji," I said and lowered my gaze.

"I am sorry for whatever happened, Pitaji," I finally broke my silence and he lowered his gaze, moving his fingers in the Khichdi's bowl.

"When the almighty moves its pieces on the board, we all can only see and react," he said, looking up and smiling weakly at me.

"Trisha," suddenly, a womanly voice caught my attention and I looked up to see my friend.

"Meera," I exclaimed with excitement.

"Oh, I am sorry, I missed your wedding," I immediately said, and looked at Pitaji to seek his permission. He nodded and I immediately ran down the stairs and hugged her tightly.
