Trishalini POV

His fingers gently caressed my neck, and I lowered my gaze, feeling the cold paste tickle against my neck.

My heart was sinking deep. I did not dare to look into his eyes. How could I tell him that my father thought and did everything?

I could not.

He was not just my father to him.

"It's enough," I muttered, gently pushing his hand away.

He stared silently at me, and I blinked, standing up and returning to my work.

We both did not say anything for the rest of the day. He was insanely angry, and the way he held my hair in his fist scared me to the core.

Never in my wildest dreams had I imagined that he would hold me like this.

I got goosebumps on my body.

And suddenly, I did not know how to stand before him. I was ashamed of whatever my father had done.

If he wanted a war, I would be happier, but what he did was be ashamed of not only the relationship of a father but also of a teacher.

He was so into himself that he did not care about anything else. He did not even think that Singarh could double-cross him.

Which it did.

After everything that had happened to Abhi, I did not know how he would react.

He would kill him.

And, he could not kill him. I would die but would not let him raise his sword on him.

I spent the rest of the day working, looking after the restocking of grains and supplies. I heard the staff's complaints and addressed the women's complaints in our Kingdom as well.

All these were the parts of the Queen's duty.

I was insanely tired, but ever since that day, I have been scared to fall asleep. My appetite has been lost, and I am frightened for the babies every moment.

The thought of anything happening to them was not leaving my mind, nor did the memories of that disastrous night.

I could not help but realize how it feels to be backstabbed by the person you trust the most.

Whatever happened between me and my father, I never thought he would do this.

"Maharani," suddenly, Meenakshi's voice caught my attention, and I lifted my gaze from the official documents and stared blankly.

"Ji," I exclaimed in a low voice, wondering what happened.

"Der Raat ho chuki hai, na aapne bhojan kiya, na dono Yuvrajo ko bulwaya, or na hi parivar ke baare me humse poocha. Sab theek to hai na? Kahi aap abhi bhi us haadse ke baare me to nahi soch rahi?"

"It's already late at night, yet you haven't eaten, you didn't call for the two princes, and you haven't asked me about the family. Is everything alright? Are you still thinking about that incident?" she asked, and I immediately looked in the window's direction.

"It's night?" I could not believe it, but she nodded.

"Ji," she confirmed, and I immediately closed all the documents and stood up.
