Trishalini POV

Whatever happened was wrong.

Change is the most difficult thing to cope with. And, those who excel at it, live their life smoothly.

But, for me, the change struck me for the very first time. And, at a bigger scale. In only a matter of days, my home was changed, my life, my lifestyle, my purpose, my responsibilities, everything had changed.

Standing drenched in heavy royal attire, with my heart beating as wild as the night in the forest, my breathing uneven like thundering clouds in the rain, my hands clutching the fresh pair of clothes, and I tried to control my shivering hands.

Running was not an option now. I realised it too late.

Closing my eyes momentarily, I stripped my clothes down and quickly changed into plain ones.

"Do you want to eat anything?" I asked, walking out and found him standing half naked, with only a dupatta wrapped around his waist. He looked even taller in it.

"No," he answered and I felt a slight pang in my chest.

I knew I had caused him a lot of problems. Not just problems but I did something whose consequences were still unknown to me.

"Give me those. I will hang them out to dry up," I tried to say, walking towards him and asking for his clothes.

He inhaled deeply looking at me and shook his head.

"We are alone here and without any protection and security. We cannot make it obvious that we are inside. Dacoits or any enemy could attack us here," he said, I nodded and looked away for a moment.

"So, I cannot spread the clothes outside?" I asked, and he shook his head.

"No," he said, and I noticed him walking around a little and picking up a jute's rope. "Spread them inside only," he said and turned around to glare at me for a moment. I gulped and looked at the wall, and signalled the hook in the wall to him.

He nodded and walked towards it to tie the end of it in and the other end in the highest part of the bamboo in the ceiling in the other corner.

"It's too much high," I said, and he walked closer to me, and took the clothes from my hand. He was to spread them on it but I quickly interrupted. "Drain them a little,"

He stared at me with confusion and I took it from his hand and brought a bucket from a corner. Twisting it, I drained them and handed them to him so that he could do the rest.

After we both were done, he asked. "There is no light and we cannot even light the fire in the rain,"

I gulped and looked around to find the pair of flint and steel. "Here," I gave it to him and brought a light lamp too.

I noticed his fingers slightly shaking when he was lighting the fire. It was not out of nervousness or fear but cold. His face looked slightly swelled too.

Once, the fire was lit he inhaled a deep breath and I said.

"Let me set up the mattress and bring the blanket. You should lay down,"

He looked at me for a moment and I could feel my heart beating for no reason.

He sat beside the light lamp, while I finished setting up the bedding arrangement.

"Abhi," I called him and he looked back at me.

"It's done," I said, and he nodded looking away.

A strange silence followed. I had never seen him this silent, especially with me. I know he was upset with me, and he should be.
