I arrive at the park in time to see Stefan and Mason shaking hands. Good. Hopefully this means peace between him and the Salvatore's. Although I wouldn't be too sure. Damon was very stupid stabbing Mason last night. Obviously he was going to retaliate.
I see Damon walk up behind Stefan after Mason walks away, "what are you doing?" I walk over to them.
"He's negotiating peace on your behalf. That was very stupid what you did last night."
"But I don't want peace," he says, annoyed. I sigh, can he get any more childish?
"Well, consider it opposite day," Stefan looks at him. I decide I don't really want to listen to them. I frown as I see Mason walking away from Sheriff Forbes.
"What was that about?" I creep up behind him.
"Oh, uh... she just asked me to help with the cleanup in the woods."
"Good.... because I know I said I was on your side, but make a move against the Salvatore's and I won't be so nice anymore, got it?" He looks at me, eyes wide.
"Yeah... yeah, got it," I give him a clearly forced smile and walk off.
I walk over to Damon and Caroline who are standing under the gazebo staring over at Stefan and Elena who appear to be fighting. I stand beside them and listen in. "No, I'm saying that this isn't up for discussion right now because we have ears on us. Elena looks over to us. We make ourselves look busy.
"Okay, when?"
"I don't know."
"I saw her, Stefan. It's like we're the same person. How could you hate her and be in love with me?"
"You're reaching, I'm not.. I'm not Damon."
"How about we don't bring Damon into this right now?
"You know what, I can't. I can't do this anymore, Elena."
"Fine, Stefan. Whatever," Elena walks away.
"Relationships are about communication," Damon says in a low voice. I snort.
"What would you know about communication?" he gives me a look then looks back at Stefan and smirks. I see. He doesn't believe their 'fight' either. Honestly, they'd make good actors. But I could sense the fakeness of their fight from a mile away.
I look at Caroline and realize what they're doing. Caroline is spying for Katherine. They think that if they fake fight in front of Caroline and she reports it back to Katherine, she'll leave them alone for a while. I shake my head. It will never be that easy.
Caroline goes to follow Elena and Damon heads over to the main area, where kids are selling lemonade. Where Mason Lockwood is. I see him start taking to Mason. Stefan and I look at each other at the same time. Then we both head over to Damon quickly as Mason walks away. "Please tell me you were just bonding."
"So what's up with this, um, faux drama in your relationship?"
"What are you talking about?" Stefan asks. I chuckle.
"Oh, come on, Stefan. You and Elena don't fight. Especially not over me."
"Drop it, Damon."
"With pleasure," he turns to the lemonade stand and a girl offers him lemonade. "Thankyou, sweetie." He takes a sip and immediately spits it out.
"What's wrong with you?"
"Vervain," I realize. I quickly walk away and look for Mason Lockwood. Mason bloody Lockwood. I'm going to kill him. I find him and pull him into the trees.
