I wake in the front seat of a car, the engine being the only sound I can apprehend, well apart from.. breathing? His breathing, I realize as I look to my right to see the man that has haunted my dreams for the past 500 years.

He returns my stare, and for a couple of seconds, it's just him, his eyes on me, nothing else. Until it all comes flooding back. I sit up straight, becoming more aware of my surroundings. It's pitch dark outside, the light of the car headlights being the only light to guide us.

As if he can tell I'm about to throw a fit, Klaus grabs my hand, lacing his fingers with mine. The action alone is surprise enough to silence me. "Don't fight me on this. You're coming with me, end of. It's for your own good," he says in a gentle tone.

"You don't know what's good for me," I snap in annoyance, yanking my hand from his. "I'm well able to protect myself. I've done it my whole life."

He sighs. "I know you're able to protect yourself. But not from this. You don't know Mikael. You don't even understand what he can do to you."

I bite my lip to keep from losing my temper completely. Maybe it's better not to fight him on this, he seems fairly adamant that he's right. This is the problem with two people who are are stubborn as each other, arguments last forever.

"Where are we going?" I ask, accepting defeat.

"Somewhere I'm told is practically a breeding ground for werewolves."

   "But where?"

   "You'll see."

I huff in annoyance. "You know I really don't appreciate this. This is the second time you've kidnapped me in three months. Did you ever stop to think about the fact that I actually have a life and friends and things to be doing? No, of course you didn't. Because you're selfish. You don't care who suffers as long as you get what you want."

"How many bloody times do I have to tell you that I'm doing this for your own good?" he asks, his tone harsher now.

"And when you forced me to come with you this summer? Was that for my own good?"

His hands grip the steering wheel tight. I notice a change in his demeanor as he takes a deep breath and pushes down on the accelerator a little harder. I guess this is my sign to shut up. His patience is clearly running out.

We drive in silence for what feels like forever. I keep trying to close my eyes and forget about the situation I'm in. But I can't. I'm all too aware of his presence beside me. I'm finally about to drift off when I'm jerked back awake as the car stops. I look around to see that we're parked in what looks like the car park of some sort of hotel.

"What are we doing?" I ask.

"I think a bed would be a lot more comfortable than a car seat, don't you? Besides, I don't really feel like driving for the night straight."

I unbuckle my seatbelt and get out. He does the same. Luckily my bag from when I was with him in the summer is still here, so I'll have clothes to wear. I grab it out of the backseat and follow him towards the door.

The hotel is surprisingly grand. Far more impressive than any other we stayed in during the summer. It's the least he can do for kidnapping me for the second time I suppose.

"Two rooms please." Klaus tells the woman at the reception.

"Do you have a booking?" the pretty, blonde receptionist asks him. I don't miss the way her tongue shoots out to wet her lips and the doe eyed smirk that slowly spreads across her face, all while never taking her eyes off Klaus. I glare at her.
