Brooklyn POV
*Next Monday*

It's been almost a week since I've talked to Val. I feel horrible. He keeps asking me if I'm mad at him and trying to get me to talk but I'm literally scared shitless that John will hurt me if I all to him. So I'm keeping my distance.

I have to admit my life is a lot quieter. I never really realized how much I turn to him until now. But now I guess I get to bond with the female sides of my friendships now.

"You coming over?" Witney asked.

"Um.. my dad is coming back this weekend and I did no cleaning since he left so.. I'm going to start cleaning before he comes back, I'll try to make it."

Witney shrugged.

"And I want my sweater back."

"Which one?"

"You have more than one?"

"That depends... Did you notice that you were missing more than one?"

"I can't deal with you. Give me the one you had last week."

"Which one?"

"Witney!" I said shoving her.

"Oh... you want your dad's?"

"Yes.."

"Well why didn't you say that in the first place."

I face palmed myself. And turned down he block towards my house.

"I'll see you later!" I called over my shoulder.

"Alright bye."

~

"Grandma I'm home."

"Good.. I've been waiting for you." someone said. But it wasn't my grandma. A figure appeared in the doorway.

"Where've you been? I've been waiting for you." John said.

"What the hell are you doing in my house?"

"I simply just came to visit you."

"Well I think I can live without your company.. I've had enough of you." I said walking towards the stairs.

John followed behind me and grabbed my arm, spinning me around.

"That's no way to talk to people now is it?"

"No. But that's how I talk to blood sucking demons such as yourself."

I sound like a crazy person. Vampires aren't even real. Someone's just playing a really huge joke on me.

I ripped my arm from his grasp and headed up the stairs again.

This time he grabbed and slammed me into a wall at the top of the stairs. I struggled to catch my breath.

Don't show him fear.

"What do you want?"

His face shifted. "I want you to talk to me..."

It hurt to see the way Val was looking at me with those pleading eyes. Those sky blue eyes were always so happy and now they looked dull and gray.

"I- I-"

"Brooklyn please. If you're mad because I impersonated your dad then I'm sorry. I did it to protect you. But I swear I didn't mean to hurt you just please forgive me."

"Val I-"

Damnit now I look like a little bitch that runs away from her problems. I mean I run away from my problems but.. *mental sigh*

"Brooklyn..."

I took a deep breath. This could quite possibly be my last conversation.

"Val I-... I'm not mad at you. I just-.. I-" I looked down.

God how the hell do I word this without sounding crazy.

"Tell me what happened." Val said leading me to my room. We sat down on my bed and Val took my hands in his.

I didn't know what to say. I can't just blurt out: oh your stepdad showed up to my house the other day and said if I talk to you again he will endanger my life. And you being here right now will probably get me killed..

"Who did it Brooklyn? C'mon I need answers."

"J- John. He... he came over the other day a- and told me to stop talking to you."

Val looked angry. He stood up quickly.

"YOU BITCH!"

Uh oh a cliffhanger!!!
