Brooklyn POV

My dad picked me up from school early today. Which was a relief cause I didn't do any of my homework last night.

I walked down to the office and let the biggest smile spread on my face when I saw him.

"Hey there Pumpkin." he said.

"Hi daddy." I said hugging him tightly.

"How was your day."

"Good. How was your trip?"

"It was nice." He said winking at me. We got to the car and he opened the door for me.

"You hungry?"

"No, not really."

My dad let out a small chuckle. "I tried to get here before you had lunch but I got caught up in traffic."

I looked into the back seat to see his suitcase and his work back.

"It's fine. We could go it for fro-yo instead." I suggested.

"Alright."

We sat in a comfortable silence for a while. I knew my dad was tired. Two weeks of fighting, getting hit with strange objects, trying to stay alive. I don't know how he does it.

"Any plans for tonight?" My dad asked breaking the silence.

"Uh yeah actually.. There's this party tonight that I was invited to."

"You're not going alone right?"

"No, Witney and Val are going. And Allison is throwing it."

"Ok. What time does it start."

"Nine."

"You want me to drop you off?" My dad asked parking the car and turning it off.

"Absolutely not." I said.

"Aw why not?"

"I love you dad, but I don't need you calling me 'Pumpkin' in front of the while senior class."

My dad laughed and so did I.

"I missed you.. Cupcake."

"I missed you too.. I don't have an embarrassing name for you. but I'll think of one."
