Two Months Later

Brooklyn POV

I sat down on the couch next to Val. Tonight was our last night together before he left for college. He's going to Yale and majoring in performing arts.

I've never seen him dance-because he won't let me-but I'm guessing if he can get into an Ivy League with half a scholarship for preforming arts, he's gotta be pretty good.

I sighed and snuggled into his side more. He kissed my head and rested his face in my hair.

"What time do you have to be there?"

"The doors open at eight. But my mom said we're leaving at 5:30."

I looked at the clock.

10:18.

"I should go."

Val looked down at me with a small smile. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"You gotta be out of here in seven hours. You need to make sure you have everything. And plus, my dad's probably gonna be home soon."

My dad was on another mission and he had my god father stay behind and watch me to make sure 'I don't lose control'. I haven't spoken to him in a few days.

I sighed and stood up from the couch.

"You okay." Val asked taking my hands in his.

I shook my head. "I'm fine. Just.." I shook my head again, not sure how to say basically anything. "Thinking."

Val stood up and took my face between his hands. "Everything's gonna be fine. Your dad's probably just stressed out about everything that's going on. Alright?"

I closed my eyes and Val pressed his forehead against mine. "I love you Brooklyn."

"I love you too." I whispered taking his hands in mine.

Val pulled me into him and kissed my nose before placing his lips on mine. My eyes fluttered close as I wrapped my arms around his neck, my fingers fiddling with his hair.

I pulled away when I found myself at a loss of air, not that I really needed it.

I'm dead now.

Thanks to Bruno. One day I'm going to kill him. He destroyed my family and ruined my life. And he won't get away with it.

Val tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, regaining my attention. "What are you thinking about?" He asked.

"Everything." I sighed.

Val pulled me into his arms and once more rested his chin on my head. "I know it's a lot, with the transition and college and all the supernatural-ness. But if you ever need me. I'll be there okay?" I nodded. "You'll be okay." Val reassured.

I pulled away from him and grabbed my jacket off of the coat rack.

"I gotta go." I said slipping into my jacket.

"I'll call you when we get there."

"Alright."

Val kissed my head one last time before I walked out of his house and down the driveway.
