Brooklyn POV

"Brooklyn wake up, we need to talk." My dad said shaking me.

Oh god, he's gonna disown me because I'm a vampire.

"About what?"

He sighed. "Well first off, how do you feel?"

"I'm fine."

"Are you hungry or anything? You want something to eat?"

"Dad I'm fine."

He sighed again. "Alright."

I could tell this was difficult for him, so I spoke spoke up again.

"By any chance does this have anything to do with my new development of fangs and the need to drink blood?"

"Yeah." He said chuckling and scratching the back of his head. "I just... I wanted to know if you were okay."

"I'm fine. Are you mad at me?"

My dad moved closer to me and wrapped his arms around me. "I could never be mad at you for this. You were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time." He kissed my head. "But it's time I told you the truth."

"What do you mean?"

"About your mother."

I sat back and looked at my dad in disbelief. "W- what about her?"

I didn't expect to talk about this topic for a long time. He never talks about mom.

"I want to tell you what really happened."

I nodded and he continued.

"Bruno launched his first attack on the agency when you were six, that's when we first saw how strong he truly was. Bruno and his men were specifically after me and a few other guys. We killed the more vampires in a decade then most agents did in a lifetime." My dad had a distant look in his eyes as if he was watching the sene unfold. "Bruno-..." He sighed before continuing. "He figured the best to get to me was attacking my family. He came for your mother. He didn't know you were alive until a few years ago for security reasons. He turned your mother and sent her against me in hopes to get rid of me. Not only did that kill me inside, but it killed your mother too. She left to protect you. She knew if she stayed she could possibly lose control and kill both of us, so she left." My dad looked back at me with tears coating his eyes. "I couldn't focus on my missions. All I could think about was your mother and how badly I wanted revenge. I neared death many, many times." Dad's voice cracked and a tear slid down my cheek. I enveloped him in a hug, burying my face in his neck. "Three years ago he attacked again and we barely managed to stop him. But the thing that haunts me about that attack the most, is that I watched your mother die before my eyes."

I squeezed my dad softly. I had no idea he went through all of that. We sat in each other's arms crying for a while before I spoke up again.

"So what happened to Bruno?"

"He's dead. Sharna and the rest got Maks and Val out of the house and the killed John and Bruno."

"What about me?"

"What about you?"

"H- he turned me. Don't you have to disown me now?"
