"Doctor Reid, can you hear me?" A deep voice calls me, but I can't see anything, just blackness. Although I do feel pain, a stinging sensation in my nose. And what's that taste in my mouth? It tastes like blood. "Doctor Reid?"
I start to open my eyes but the sudden flood of light blinds me momentarily, "Wha... What happened?" I stutter.
"Do you know where you are?" A man in a suit asks.I look around to see automatic doors and a little gift shop.
"I... Err, the hospital I think."
"That's good." I look at the man who is speaking to me, I recognise him as a doctor from the ward where Alannah is. Luckily, there's no Irish accent, and I don't think Alannah has any more family members that can come back from the dead.
"Can you remember what happened?" The doctor asks as he helps me sit up making me feel a little light headed."I think so, I'm still a little confused. How's Alannah?"
"She's fine. I've taken the liberty to call your team to inform them what happened, they should be here any minute."
"What did you tell them?"
"That you had an altercation and one of the men punched you. I didn't know any of the details to give them."
"Thanks, I think we have a bit of work to do."
"I would like to take a closer look at that nose, I think it's broken and I think you have a concussion."
"Will it take long? I want to get back to Alannah."
"Of course not. I can actually look at your injury in Alannah's room if it would make you feel more comfortable."
"Yeah it would thanks. What about my team? Would they be allowed to join us if visiting time is almost over?"
"They're FBI and one of their team members just got attacked, I'm sure we can pull some strings."
"Thanks." The doctor helps me up and leads me back to Alannah's room where he checks me out.About 20 minutes after the doctor has checked me over and placed a plaster over my nose the team arrive at Alannah's room.
"Oh my God Spence, what the hell happened?" JJ runs to my side and examines the injury as if I was Henry.
"It's a long story." I admit as I still try to come to terms with what had happened.
"How is Alannah?" Garcia asks, her shoes click against the tilled floor as she makes her way over to Alannah's bedside.
"The doctor says she's fine, just resting. She still has a lot of strong medication in her system that will be making her drowsy for the next few days." I tell the team, my eyes locked to her pale skin.
"She looks so peaceful. I don't know how we're going to tell her what's going on." I sigh as I think about what just happened.
"What do you mean?" Hotch asks, the concern for Alannah showing through in his voice.
"The guy that hit me was Alannah's uncle, and that woman I was talking to, Niamh, well turns out she's Alannah's sister." There are a few moments of shocked silence as the team tries to wrap their heads around the information I had just given them.
"I thought her sisters were dead." Morgan sounds as confused as we all looked.
"So does Alannah. I'm not sure of the story. All I know is that one of her uncles was pretending to be a doctor, Niamh kept lurking around the hospital to keep an eye on Alannah. I've never noticed the other uncle before today" I fill the team in on the happenings.
