I hold my breath, afraid to breathe wrong and anger Alan further. He was speeding through the streets, I had no clue where he was going and I think I rather it that way, but I needed to know. "Where are we going?" I shakily ask, I watch as Alan squeezes the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles were turning white.

"A friend's house." Alan's stare is locked forward, I've never seen him like this, who was the friend?

"Alan what's going on?" I wasn't sure if I wanted to know but I was starting to get even more scared than I already was.

"We have to find that dickhead that took advantage of you, I have a friend who can find out where he lives."

I need to get him away from this man hunt for Spencer. "Why don't we just leave, me and you just runaway, start a new life together somewhere far away?"

"No, he has to learn that actions have consequences." I couldn't believe I was hearing these words from the man that had been mentally, physically and sexually abusing me for months.

"Why do you want to know where he lives?"

"So we can wait for the bastard to come home and I can kill him."

I'm frozen in a state of shock. I couldn't let Alan kill Spencer, but there was only one way to stop him. There are too many cars on the street to swerve the car without hurting any innocent people. "I'm sorry Peanut." I whisper to myself as I clutch at my stomach.

"What did you say?" Alan asks.

I shut my eyes tightly as I gather the courage to finally stand up to Alan, no more lies. "I can't let you kill Spencer."

"Oh yeah, why not?" Alan laughs it off, thinking I was joking.

"Because I love him." I dare not open my eyes, scared to see the look on Alan's face.

"Good joke babe."

"It's not a joke, I really love him. I've been lying to you to try and make it back to him safely. But if you're going to kill him then the truth is the only option I have left."

Alan pulls the car to a sudden halt making my eyes jolt open as my arm flies forward to stop myself from colliding with the dashboard; cars blast their horns in anger as they drive past Alan. "What truth?"

I look to Alan, he's breathing heavy and his eyes are locked on the windscreen. His fists clench tighter around the steering wheel as he takes his frustrations out on it. "What truth?" He roars the words, spittle flying from his mouth. The anger is painted across his face making me shake with fear knowing how much pain he could cause me and the ones I love.

"Spencer and I weren't a onetime thing," I begin my confession, my voice low and shaky as I watch his reaction. "and he didn't take advantage of me; to be honest I wanted him just as much as he wanted me." My eyes are glued to Alan as he processes my words. "I tried to fight it, honestly I did; I just couldn't resist my feelings forever. I don't know if it was one too many beatings from you or just me feeling lonely and he was there. It just happened one night."

"How many times did you sleep with him?" His words are jagged, I know it's taking everything he has to stop him from lashing out.

"Twice, the second time we were drunk and we just couldn't keep our hands off each other. It was about three weeks after the last time you..." I wasn't sure how to finish the sentence, I didn't want to anger him even more.

"After I what?" His head turns eerily slowly to look at me. "After I what?!" his shout makes me jump in my seat in fear, I squeeze my eyes shut tightly and hold my breath, my fear growing every second that I'm alone with him.

"After you forced yourself on me."

"So the baby?"

"I took a pregnancy test before I got shot that said 1-2 weeks which means Spencer is the father. I'm sorry..." Before I have a chance to say anything else, a fist is slammed into my face, causing my head to hit the window as the blackness took over.

"Why can't we find anything on him?" I say as I run my hands through my hair in frustration.

"He's good at covering his tracks." Hotch tells me the answer I already knew.

"He's a trained police officer, he knows what to look out for and he knows how to clean up his tracks so he doesn't get caught." Kate thinks aloud.

"Yeah but we're meant to be the best in the business and we're no closer to finding where he has Alannah." I shout as I get up from my seat and walk over to the external window while running my hands through my hair. "There has to be something we're missing."

"I'll go through his file and bank accounts again but I've been over them five times already and there's nothing. I'll run Alan's plates again to see if the car has been spotted by CCTV as well." Garcia says as she turns to her laptop and types in her commands.

I turn back to the team "We tried tracking their phones, their cars, their bank accounts, everything yet they can't be found. How the hell can he hide this well?" I think aloud. Every second that Alannah was missing was another second she was with him, he could be doing anything to her. Thoughts run through my mind, pictures of the worst cases we've ever worked begin to come to mind. Working in the BAU you see some awful images; but when it's someone you love it makes it a thousand times worse. I just about came back after Maeve died, if anything happens to Alannah I don't think I would ever be able to come back; I'm not sure I could carry on living without her.

A phone ringing makes my focus jump back to the round table room to see Hotch answering his phone "Hotchner."

I watch as a worried expression grows on his face as Hotch listens to whoever it was on the other side of the line. But a loud beeping noise take the attention away from Hotch as we all turn to Garcia's laptop. "Alan's car has just shown up outside a café." Garcia says as she types to try and find out more information.

"A café?" Kate asks sounding as shocked as the rest of us looked.

"What the Hell is he doing there?" Morgan asks the question that we were all thinking.

"He's taken Alannah and a group of people hostage." Hotch says as he hangs up his phone.

"What do you mean?" I ask, still having trouble processing the words.

"I'm not sure, that was Cruz. Hostage negotiators are down there; they just found out the hostage takers identity and it's Alan, they want us down to guide them on why he might be doing this." Hotch explains.

I get a sinking feeling of realisation. "He knows." I say although my voice is little more than a whisper.

"Knows what? About the baby?" Hotch asks as he begins to get an idea as to what was happening.

Just as I was about to answer Hotch's question my phone rings and Garcia's laptop beeps. "Alannah's phone just made a call, hang on I'll get the number."

"Don't bother." I say as I hold up my phone for the team to see who was calling me. It was Alannah's caller ID.
